These aren't easy to find in good condition with original parts anymore. All the ones I've seen don't seem to have that linen finish on the dial.
I gave up trying to pick one up. Anyone here get one in good condition recently? What do they go for these days?

This is another one of those models that has a 'conditional rarity' element to it. The lacquer used on the dial tends to turn brown and appear as a stain on the dial, like this one.

I got this one from a private sale recently along with a 6138 0030. The price was well below the going rate on eBay. It had some flaky crud on the dial, needed new gaskets and the crystal needed a good polish. The dial has a couple of small spots and some scratches on the bottom subdial from some careless hand removal. Still, I consider it a good one. Going rate on eBay for a good example with original dial seems to be in the region of $450 to $600US, with redials still attracting about $300. Edit: the linen finish isn't particularly visible in this pic, but it's there. The way to pick the redials is that generally the text under the Seiko logo doesn't line up perfectly on the left.

Here is a comparison of the -8000 and the -8020 I got recently (baby Panda to the right): Sadly, I do not have the original bracelets. I have a nice Stelux that would fit the Panda, though. Just need the end links. Edit: I used smaller pictures so it would load faster. Click on the images to see the bigger versions.

I would love to have one of these, especially with the laquer stain. I will probably go for the newer/quartz version just to see how I like it in person.
