Cool watch but I always have to wonder, who actually needs the protection? At least they didn't do a Rolex lighting bolt sweep (which I have always thought was rather silly).

Those working in radiography clinics with all those new age fandangled super magnet units would be all over them, otherwise all watches have to left outside . . . anyone in the know feel like elaborating please go hard. laugh1.gif

There was a previous GS 5 years or so ago that was anti mag (can't find any pics at the moment)
I guess for marketing purposes if you have a flop wait 5 years and reintroduce it as "NEW" and everyone will jump on it.

Exactly! The only thing it brought to the table was the ability for MRI technicians to have watches that wouldn't get destroyed from daily use in the chamber...or those folks with boom boxes in their cars that could set off earthquakes like a Tesla device Marketing overkill BS.gif

In high school my $100 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix was rusted 8 inches up on the doors and the trunk was swiss chees. But my 3/4" thick link chain on the trunk lid kept my $300 Kicker 15" subwoofers safe. You could hear me 3 blocks away. The police posted up on my route to school so I had to change my route up and 3 days later they were posted up on that road. 3 years later I had to go to a junkyard and spend $50 on a split bench seat for my $35 1988 Toyota pickup so I could fit speakers boxes behind it. I also spent $250 on rims and tires for my $35 truck. Man I miss that truck. I love lost cause rescue cases and Philippines donor watches. Any yuppy with a credit card can walk into a store and buy a new off the shelf everyone and their mama has one watch but it takes a true visionist with the help a true craftsman to buy 5 watches for US$30 and come out with a one of a kind ground shattering MOD (which ends up costing you on the back end)

Saving a good watch is a noble thing. But buying one that has been all Oyl'd up is just wrong. Do it right; restore the movement and replace the shitty shitty bits with good stuff from Jake and Harold...then you've done a good deed smiley-cool11

An anti-magnetic watch is necessary for very much the same reason as the 1000M water resistant watch and the 1/1000 second chronograph.

An anti-magnetic watch for the common man is necessary for very much the same reason as the 1000M water resistant watch and the 1/1000 second chronograph. Fixed that for you.

Cool watch but I always have to wonder, who actually needs the protection? At least they didn't do a Rolex lighting bolt sweep (which I have always thought was rather silly). I work on a college campus that has a pretty strong physics department, and lots of the folks working on their cyclotron seem to have an anti-mag watch. That said, like someone else said, the majority of us need one about as much as we need a watch that does 200M (or more), when the vast majority of recreational SCUBA diving tops out at 30-40 M.
