Well that was a hook to get you in a115 I'm looking for a watch in the classic style of Tony's IWC (http://wristsushi.proboards.com/thread/742/vintage-iwc-secondhand-shop-find) I have been fruitlessly searching the web for a new mechanical quality watch. Before I jump in and buy the only one i found, I was hoping the that the forum members may know of a company that makes this style! So far my search has lead me to "Junkers" and this model, which is very close to the design, except i don't want a day/date display, but could live with it.... This version has a Citizen movement and would be great except for the superfluous sub dial and date window, i don't mind the power display as this was featured in several watches in the 1950's/60's. So guys and gals what say you thunbsup.gif Rod

I prefer the first one that you showed. The second is nice though.

Thanks Dr, these are getting close, it's the lumed hands and the fine lume dots that have me wanting this style. The Orients have the dauphine hands without the lume, the IWC has the candle stick hands and the fine indices. Rod

From those two, I personally prefer the top one. Less clutter, more classy.

There's also Junghans: They're somewhat pricey though, around $750-1100

What's wrong with Junkers? They are made by PointTec who also make Zeppelin and Maximilian watches, all great watches and well made in Germany.

Personally I wouldnt buy any watch that had JUNKERS on the dial! JMO That's kind of silly don't you think? Junkers was an industrial aviation giant in Germany during WWI and WWII and they make very good quality watches today.. The origin of the word is old High German meaning 'young lord or master'. In other words these are noblemens watches! Seiko means 'exquisite'. I find nothing wrong with either name; in fact I much prefer the sound and feel of the name Junkers chinathumbsup.gif
