I bought a watch lot on eBay, hoping against hope that what I saw was what was actually there. It came in today, and I had a glorious hour or so sorting through everything that came in. Some seriously good stuff, but the best were these items. These are NOS 6309 movements, hands, dial rings, movement rings, caseback seals. Unreal. The lot also contained this: a strange 30j weekdater, Seiko marked on the rotor. Anyone seen anything like this before?

That looks like an 8305 or 8306 calibre.

Nice score.
The 30J is obviously a redial.

Nice score. The 30J is obviously a redial. I'm wondering if it's a Seiko movement used by someone else. Dial construction isn't like Seiko work at all, and only the rotor has any markings on it.

I'm almost leaning towards complete Feiko on this one. Most of the watches with a number next to the day were Orients or some other brand.

I'm almost leaning towards complete Feiko on this one. Most of the watches with a number next to the day were Orients or some other brand. Everything on the movement looks non-Seiko to me. For example, the cap jewels are unlike anything I've ever seen on a Seiko. No bridges are marked. Dial is unmarked, front or back, with anything that resembles a Seiko maker's mark. Never seen a winder like that on a Seiko either. It's a mystery. I'll post some pics of the movement.

The Seiko mark on the rotor of that 30j movements looks iffy too - not positioned very well at all. Looks decidedly after market.
The 6309 parts are a great score though!

Sorry, I'm being a bit thick - was what you saw actually there? what did you see? Two 6309 movements with what looked like original handsets.
