I've sworn to stop selling off core collection model watches. I've owned and sold too many. No more. This one stays. 6309-7049, July '81, extremely late Suwa. Mine from July 1981, says hello...

Lexus IS300. If you don't have the key you have to get a new processor and get one of the laser keys cut (or at a minimum send your processor and lock cylinder out to some place on the net for $500 for them to reprogram the processor even though Toyota says you can;t do it) The last time it was a Toyota Camry Solara and I had to track down some woman on the Northside who it had been repo'd from to get the keys. At least my boss knew this going into it that it wasn't going to be cheap if I couldn;t track down the keys. Those are great cars. It's basically a BMW 3 Series with Toyota reliability. Is it for your personal use or resale? Yes these are great cars. We've had an IS200 for 12 years as our "other" car. Nice to drive and built like a tank. The 300's that I have also driven have been great. Future classics.

I guess when you have $150 in unpaid parking tickets the city will take your shit when they see it on the street. That's just wrong. "Owing" $150 does not give them the right to take possession of your car. Manual or automatic? My brother in law had one with a manual. It wasn't super powerful, but it was fun to drive. Automatic. They can't impound your car unless you have 2 outstanding tickets over 30 days due or if you are stopped by the police and you leave your car in the middle of the road when they drag you out of it and beat you and lock you up. You can still go get it back afte rpaying the tow fee and providing proof of ownership and insurance. All he had to do was pay the 2 $30 tickets he had and the city tow fee and provide proof of ownership and proof of insurance and he could drive it out. But most of the impounded cars that are unclaimed from the city are because the Northsiders don't have a license, don't have proof of insurance, never registered the car in their name, expired tags, don't have $200 to get it out, or their car isn't worth the $200 to get it back out.

What's the serial? Mine is 171342 Mine is 174942. What's interesting about these almost Suwas, almost non-Suwas, is to see inside. Suwa and non-Suwa models have differences in the finishing on the plates, on the shape of the jewels, on the material for the dial ring. Subtle things. I haven't seen inside one of these very late Suwas before and I was very interested to see that in basically every way, this Suwa was a non-Suwa. It had all the late stuff for the most part. I think the definition of what is or isn't a Suwa could be looked at.
