I was really hoping the title was in reference to something that was actually breaking Fossil watches.
It is a pleasing design. Too bad it's probably junk like everything else they make.
Can't help to notice it's only a LE. If they could get away from being fashionable or just following trends and actually commit to making quality, functional watches, I'd appreciated them more.

Supposedly Fossil is stepping up market a bit. This one has an auto mechanical movement inside. Some confusion wether it is a miyota 82xx or some clone that I never heard of called STP 1-11.

I would rank Fossil a bit higher only because they're not trying to convince the world that they're offering a watch that is better than what it is, which is a fashionable watch at a reasonable price. Still wouldn't buy one.

ST2130. Not Swiss...Chinese. That's not helping! laugh1.gif I would also hesitate to pay 895 USD for a Fossil with a Chinese movement. No disrespect.

As it turns out; the ST2130 is every bit as well made as the ETA 2824-2... forums.watchuseek.com/f72/comparison-liaoning-peacock-sl3000-sea-gull-2130-a-883205.htmlGiven the cost differenve; I would opt for the Chinese movement each time. I do have a watch with the ST2130 and it performs as well or better than the couple of 2824-2s I have chinathumbsup.gif But you are right; this is a $200 watch at the very most.

I like it but would have to see in in real life to pass final judgement. I remeber when Fossil started out as the new Swatch with all fo their crazy dials and watches. Then they grew (just like the Swatch Group did) and the Fossil outlet store that was next to the Seiko Outlet store had Fossil, Adidas, Zodiac, and many other brands of watches and products under their umbrella. For $30 each I think my SS case PVD coated Adidas and a similar SS cased chrono Adidas wear an awesome score. I went back a year or 2 later and no deals were to be found an dthe Seiko outlet store was closed.

Fossil is clearly a Fashion Watch Brand. They cater to inexpensive watches that "look nice" to non-WIS's. Nothing wrong with that per se.
They recently added a mid-level ETA mechanical movement model to become their 'high end' product line. Now I cannot see how that makes sense at this time, maybe in 20 years it will prove out to have been a historical moment as they may ultimately prove to be 'moving up'.
I have a Fossil from the 1990's that I got as a present back in the day. When looked at analytically appears to be influenced by the Rolex Explorer II of that time period, with an unmistakeable departure to a brown baton dial to differentiate it from 'an homage'. I give them credit for maintaining their independence in styling.

Fossil has tried to move up before. when I was in high school and didn't even know what an automatic watch was, I bought a Fossil Defender chrono on eBay. list on them was $400 and they did several variations in limited quantities. I paid maybe 1/4 that, and when they couldn't fix it under warranty they gave me $400 online store credit and returned the watch, which I fixed myself. It's very well made, all the way down to the signed screw-down crown, solid engineer style bracelet, and solid end links. If I remember I'll post a pic later
