In its glory. Any muck removal advice. I seem to recall a thread a while back about this.

Well spotted tritto there is acid residue from 11-3 predominantly and the inner side of the glass has a 1cm diameter dot that is clean in the center with a film that is solid that hazes the rest of the crystal

Be careful with the text on the day and date wheel too then. I had one that had a similar problem. I wiped the day wheel with a wet cotton bud to clean it and the text smeared.

6309-7049 1984. What do you think guys, redial? Fake/aftermarket. Redials, I dunno...some have some semblance of legitimacy to them, check the scubapro fakes now kicking about.....But that just is a typical fake 6309 dial. Hands and insert wrong aswell. Also no Suwa dials around '84. Most uo to '81.. one or two supposedly from '82 or 3 but I am not too positive on what date is stamped on the rear of the dial..if anything. . Should be an A stamped case without Japan and the dial should be an MT, NT or Hong Kong dial I think.

Is this a complete Feiko? The bezel is wrong and the dial looks like a reprint, hands seem off too. Can anyone else confirm this?

Need a closer/bigger pic to tell anything about the dial and hands though. Caseback info would help too so we can ascertain if the dial matches the model and production year.

What do you think about this one? Tim, I don't know much about these models but it may be the scratched crystal tha makes the yellow hands look a little too bright.

Owner says that supposedly it’s all original, it was his grandfathers watch.

Owner says that supposedly it’s all original, it was his grandfathers watch. Like I said, the bad crystal and lighting may be making the chrono/seconds hand look a bit too bright.ld have that in my stable 7dfe79adc2f0

Here's a possible Feiko I found while scouring the bay. Looks pretty good at first glance, but - and I'm not a 100% on this - the bottom dial font looks weird plus the lume markers also seem off, too sharp. The fonts, especially on the sub-dial are a lot thinner when compared to mine and I'm fairly certain the bezel insert is AM too. Case is overpolished and the bracelet seems to be one of the Seikosis ones (who coincidentally makes AM dials that are pretty decent copies of the original). This seller has sold a lot of dubious stuff in the past, so I would steer clear of this one; if it is a fake dial, it's probably one of the best I've seen so far.

Authentication Check Please? 1978 Seiko 6306-7001... Hi folks, There is a watch said to be a "dead stock" 1978 Seiko 6306-7001 for sale, and it does seem to be in fantastic condition. In fact it almost seems "too good to be true"! So can you all take a look at the pictures and let me know if you see anything out of line? I'm not sure I will be able to afford where the price of this will probably go, but I would feel even worse if I got the watch and it wasn't authentic. - Thomas

Someone pointed out the strap is not correct, as it is a newer Z-22. I should have posted the auction description, as it indicates the seller is the second owner:
So, a little suspicious that the seller did not mention the strap is incorrect, but if that is all that is wrong (and it doesn't sell for US$1200!) I can live with that!
