Hello All,
I have an old 39J SuperJet that is not in a good state. The dial is not the best, and the dial spacer is missing. The case is poor. It shows the deterioration seen on some of these old Citizens and appears to have been re-plated and overpolished. The original crown has been cut out with what appears to be a hacksaw.
The watch does run, and amazingly keeps time, so the movement is probably ok. Hands look good. These are very attractive movements, and it would be great to do something with it. It would be a waste to let it languish unused. Fixing it up in the existing case is hardly worthwhile. A replacement case? Well, these things are very uncommon, so not much chance of finding a donor.
It would be quite something to put the movement into a case with a display back - maybe with the original dial - or maybe not.
Any thoughts on what the possibilities might be for this one?
Regards
Ross
