But in my feeble mind there are not too many watches with an 7s26 movement in them that I would pay $305.95. Maybe 10 years down the road but not know. Am I missing something or is this a really rare watch?
Do a search for this auction title...

Am I missing something or is this a really rare watch? Do a search for this auction title... Seiko SKX399 Automatic Mens 200M Diver Watch Rare Discontinued This is/was not a rare watch. It was mostly found in areas of Southeast Asia like the Philippines. There were many new ones still available until just recently but are now scarce. Price wise it shouldn't cost any more than the SKX173 which is almost identical with the exception of the 12 o'clock markers being shorter and blunt on the bottom. It's the same basic watch as the SKX007 so prices should be similar.

I like it...Is that the original bracelet? No; the auction says it was a replacement.

I was able to get a hold of a new one through a member of another forum...paid less than that but it was about a year ago. But as stated above, 399's in that condition pop up here and there but good ones even less.
Sold it but the chromed hour markers were a very nice touch.

Am I missing something or is this a really rare watch? Rare or not, the ultimate selling price is always what the buyer is willing to pay and the buyer willing to accept. Price discussion may only serve to impart a warm feeling. JMHO.

Price wise it shouldn't cost any more than the SKX173 which is almost identical with the exception of the 12 o'clock markers being shorter and blunt on the bottom. Not 'rare' but not especially common either, especially in good condition. Only real difference is that the hour markers are lined in metal, (not quite 6105 lume wells though) which seems to add some depth to the dial. I looked for a while to find mine in near NOS condition, really happy I got it.

I suspect there are a dozen or more folks on the forums who recently found new( true NOS) ones and they may be just waiting to flip them. Keep your eyes and ears open folks chinathumbsup.gif
