A few months ago I made a purchase from eBay for this World Tour Professional diver.
It was not much to look at and it didn't cost much at all. I bought it for the case as it is a solid piece of stainless steel with a screw down crown. Also it is very similar to the Heuer jumbo diver cases that I'm addicted to. It's powered by an ETA 955.124. A great Swiss made machine that unfortunately at the time wasn't keeping proper time.
I played around with a few dials that I already had in my spare parts , but nothing was really working for me. So I got back on eBay and searched for 29mm dial to fit the ETA 955.124. I could only find dials that fit the ETA 2824 automatic , but luckily for me the dial feet are in the same place. No need to "cut & paste".
I already had a new set of hands to fit this movement so didn't need to order those. Once the dial came in it was time to get to work. The movement was stripped down and cleaned. The case was also stripped down polished and given a nice heated ultrasonic bath , followed by blast from my steamer. The crystal needed to be replaced. The one it came with was 1.5mm thick and a bit below the bezel. I went with a 2.5mm to bring it just a hair above the bezel giving it an overall better look in my opinion. Once the dial was installed and hands were fitted everything was put together. I tried a rubber band, a nato, a leather nato and finally decided on a solid link Jubilee bracelet that was looking for a new home. Over all I think its a major improvement over what it was. I present my 200m Swiss made custom diver ... Snake Eyes.
Thanks for looking / reading. I have other projects in the queue so with the next few I'll do a better job of documenting the step by step in photos a bit better.

Very smooth Chris. As well as all the work you've done, I really like the case on this watch. A diver with a crown at 3 is on my wish list, they look really well balanced IMO. I never used to like mods but I just know I'm gonna end up doing one soon.

Looks good except for the bezel insert. You really need to do something about that. I doubt that it can be aligned c023

I've no regrets about any of my watch purchases, but I've a few on the one's I've let slip by. The hunt is on but I'm in no rush. I think it's easy for any of us to jump on the first example of a model we like, then a few weeks down the road, we might see a better, cleaner & less expensive one. So were all of the Swiss brands and the Swiss fly by night brands of the time buying all of the parts from the same wholesaler whether it was Heuer or World Tour or "insert your brand name here"?
