Does anyone know anything about Vintage Seiko pocket/Stopwatches ? I saw this one and am perhaps interested in it but know NADA about them. The 2nd pic also has markings on the back that I cant ID either. Seller states that one of the Kanji symbols on the left translates to Ordinal grade 9 what ever that means! TIA

I don't know anything about these really but I've seen a couple before. I'm not certain but think they're quite small, under 2 inches maybe & probably made in the 30's-40's. I think an ordinal number refers to a place or position, like 1st, 2nd etc.
I quite like it but am not sure about the crazing on the dial. Could it be enamel ?

Also states its not currently running! He is asking $50.00 for it........Good price or no?

I did wonder about porcelain ! Really don't know about the price. How much would it cost to repair ? Is it repairable ? What's it worth when it's repaired ? Could you buy a working one for not that much more ?
Sorry, that's no help really is it ? I don't think these are super rare but have no idea how many are around. Probably brought back by GI's after WW2.
If it was me, I might offer him less & just hang it on the wall.
Hope someone else know's about these & can advise better.

All very good questions none of which I can answer! I think I'll pass on it and use the $50.00 I may have foolishly spent on it for a different purchase!

It would be an interesting thing to own, but it's damaged & I don't think it's worth $50 as it is. Just found this www.ebay.com/itm/Seikosha-Stopwatch-WW-II-no-crystal-/300939192906?nma=true&si=eP36zlW%252BDtxNIFbicg2IdgGJrGI%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557Saying that though, if the markings on the back are military, it could be very collectable
