Got this GMT version with the DG2813. Bought it with the NATO and replaced it with G.'s blue strap. Accuracy is like the Parnis sub with the Miyota 8215 -quite acceptable! These are el cheepos but what a deal! rail2 by blingmeister, on Flickr

You're right these are great looking and for little money.

If the GMT hour hand is independently settable it's the 'B' version. Depending on what level of movement is installed, it could be as good or better than a Miyota 82 series. 'DG' stands for Dixmont Ganzhou which is a direct competitor to Sea-Gull. Shanghai actually made a GMT that was even better than either the DG or Sea-gull offerings.

Mushroom brands like Parnis and watches using old world Swiss brand names that died in the 70s seldom use the best movement grades. You stand a much better chance of getting a decent movement in a watch from a Swiss, German, or French based company; Zodiac for instance with it's Sea-Gull based ST16 movement.

Quite like the watch looks good for the money. In spite of recent attempts by some individuals to legitimize Parnis as a real company, it is still nothing more than a name that dozens of assemblers use to flog everything from good products to the cheapest crap available. The vendor in this auction does not even know what he/she is talking about. DG2813 is a direct copy of the Miyota 8200 movement with the added benefit of hacking. The DG3804 movement is a 4 hander GMT or 24 hour movement. The 3804B is the true GMT movement with the independently settable hour hand while the simple 3804 movement is not a true GMT movement as the 24 hour hand is slaved to the hour hand and not resettable. The seller also has Mingzhu confused with something else. Given all the mish mash of manufacturer names, movement models and parsnip crap. this watch will have a 'D' grade 3804 movement if you are lucky.

I read it and it is fake news as have been past attempts to legitimize Parnis as a real company. If you read the article carefully, you will see that only the name is registered/copyrighted by an individual; not an actual manufacturer or company. The article points out that parts are made in many different factories and assembly is done in many other factories most of which are not associated to one another. Additionally, Mingzhu was/is the name of a very cheap copy of the DG2813 that was/is used in replica/fake/counterfeit watches...think $10 Rolex, Omega, etc. Attempts have been made to link Mingzhu with Dixmont Gangzhou but there is no proof.

I've had 2 DG movements, neither was very good (Parnis & Croton). It seems the watch industry has gone the routes of the lawn and garden industry. You used to get a good name brand engine in a shitty case or shitty platform. At least in the old days you knew it would run or start. Now all of the bottom feeder brands in both industries use junk knock off powerplants on a junk platform. Buyer beware.
