"Flash! Ah-ahhhh!"
I saw this in the theater when it was new. Always liked this movie. Had no idea it had a gold-dialed 6139 in it. Now we've got an excuse to watch it again! That and Columbo:

anyone else thing he resembles Ashton Kucher? Blasphemy! Asston Krotchner isn't good enough to carry Flash's jockstrap! I loved this movie when I was a kid. It was on HBO seemingly every six hours for about eight years, and I probably watched it half of the times it was aired there. Apparently, there was some big mash-up about who owned the rights to this movie back in the 1990s, and that severely delayed it's US DVD release. It was first released on DVD for a very short time here in 1998, and was then out of print...until 2007!

Like I said earlier, I saw this movie in the theater when I was a kid, and loved it. I got really excited about seeing it again for the first time in decades, and the wife said nyet.
I'll have to watch it all by myself. Sad.

anyone else thing he resembles Ashton Kucher? My money would be on Owen Wilson without the phuked up nose. Anyone remember the Conan O'Brien show back when it was on NBC where they had a segment called "If they mated" where they took 2 celeb photos and photoshopped what their kids would look like?

Ok boys! Resurrection of a 7 year old thread. Watched "Faster" with 'the Rock' last night and caught Billy Bob Thornton wearing, what is unmistakably a 6309. It could have been called a Jagger, or a "Bud" Briggman, but Billy Bob!? Hell no! I refuse to call it a turtle, and am kinda happy that this classic has no movie nickname. Rob. Btw I didn't finish the movie, maybe there were even better pics.

When first seen in the movies I thought this was a ....6309 / 6306 , but maybe it was a ...6105... But I really think it is ... 6309 / 6306 watch myself. Louis

Have not found any other pictures that show it better.

OK Rob just found this looking into it. Virgil wore a ...6309 according to this site. Worn and wonded says ..... Virgil " Bud " Brigman ( Ed Harris ) .....wore this 6309 making .... The Movie ..... Abyss on .....April 24, 2014 . Another classic and popular Seiko appearance is from James Cameron’s epic “The Abyss”. The film follows a civilian diving team as they are taken off their corporate assignment and given the task to work with the military to recover a lost nuclear submarine. During the time they encounter an alien presence that lives at the bottom of the ocean. Virgil ‘Bud’ Brigman (played by Ed Harris) wears a Seiko 6309 automatic dive watch. The 6309 is considered by some to be one of the most popular dive watches produced. Seiko has not made the model in over twenty years yet it’s popularity has not waned.

I remember watching it on our old Zenith television on the General Electric VCR my dad bought at Crazy Eddie in NJ before Eddie went to prison. He wheeled the TV into the living room and I watched it with my friends at as part of my birthday sleep over party in like 1982 I believe. My mom made spaghetti and meatballs and served it on paper plates and we had cans of RC Cola. We slept in the basement in our sleeping bags on the vinyl asbestos tiling. Fortunately, we didn't lick it, lol. I was 9. Ever have something that you haven't seen or heard in like 3 decades and all of a sudden it triggers a memory. This Flash Gordon discussion did just that!
