Hi guys, many of you have seen my retro watches on my daily posts and in the repair section. I thought it would be interesting to post all my collection as of today. I am far too addicted to this game and already I have little space left. Some hold sentimental value, some are just for the collection sake, others are regular wearers. I'd love to hear your thoughts I like to think I have some very interesting pieces even if they are not to your tastes. I consider my collection quite large too but I have a feeling this is the tip of the iceberg for years to come. Enjoy and if you want any info or model numbers on individual pieces just leave a comment. Here goes..,,

Nice collection, I really love some of your 70's vintage pieces Mike. I think you may need to buy more watch boxes soon and keep on filling them up...

One or two of my more conventional ones I may sell, I realised after that 5 more were missing. One in my safe not for value but sentimental reasons, another 2 I'm restoring, one led that I'm desperately seeking a new module for and then a moon phase quartz I bought a few years back that may be a ladies! I'm going to post this in another section for advise and opinions.

I went through a jump hour phase - I do believe I also have that big black jump hour watch - yours has a black strap. They are so cool!!
Very nice collection - love the unique cases on so many of them!!

Dan Hi Dan, My taste is quite interesting and as much as I like the more conventional watches too my collecting watches are more this retro type, they just stand out. Red LED and jump hours are so good, I want the Sicura jump hour but a good one can be some good money but would be a nice addition. LEDs I've bought 5 but only 2 work (in the photos) others need working modules that are hard to obtain sadly.the big black jump is made by Buler, 3 discs hours, mins and seconds! Great fun but I hardly wear it. People tend to laugh at it because it's so odd in shape.
Wow how long have you been collecting? I was under the impression you were kind of new to it? What's that with the green NATO in the middle?
Hi, I've always had an interest but collecting only really kicked off about 18 months ago. I started watching videos on YouTube by TGV of the urban gentry. His content got me thinking. The watch you refer was actually my first purchase after watching his content. I owned the Casio Edifice and the Tissot only before. I saw him showing vintage watches on natos and how cheap they could be picked up. I bought my first vintage piece , a UK made Timex!!£15, granted the movement is as basic as it gets but I knew nothing but wanted the look. Over the next 6 months I bought genre stuff, my Omega because I fell in love with it, big purchase but actually a song in reality (£257) I've yet to see another black crosshaired cosmic yet. I then bought the rotary skeleton followed by Seiko diver and the Panerai wannabes(Parnis) Soon I found my passion for jumps so actively looked and still look for them. Around six months ago I bought the Seiko 6119-5431 as it was advertised as a 1972 my birth year, I won it for little money, sourced a crystal and then set about using my knowledge of abrasives to "improve" the case. Over a weekend I'd done the case and bracelet. Soon the rotary tool and all other tools were aquired and my passion for saving these 70s Seikos was born. I really like to find them and it always surprises me how little they cost considering they are autos etc. I'm now finding it hard to stop looking which in itself is concerning! Only last night I bought a watch because I had the right bracelet for it... I now look for the unusual which tends to lead to Seikos. I now have some experience all be it slight on tackling the movement and have been able with this groups help to fix 3 now. So to actually answer your question , I've not been at it long. Collection is in the low 40s and growing, even ones I buy to fix up to sell I end up keeping!!
