Aloha , My wife and her friend went to the market and passed a garage sale coming home. Well you know women they like all that so they stopped. She bought some excess. I asked her what is this package here , she tells me oh there is two old dead watch's the Women said so I got it for you if you want it for parts. I said how much for the watch's ? She tells me the women said ..... $1.50 .... for the Two. So I opened it up and this little ..... Women's Watch ..... was in there. I took it and cleaned it up then I put a new movement into it that I had here. A Women's ... Methey - Tissot " Luger " ( Quartz - and it is working good now. ) _______________________________________________________________ Now : I looked in the package also and saw this wrapped up with paper and scotch tape. I took it back to the Women to see if she still wanted it and told her this was in the package and she tells me ..... " No that watch does not work because the crown is stuck and I could not pull it out to set it ". I showed her that it has a .... Screw Down Crown ... and that is why it was so hard to set it. She then tells me .... " Awe go ahead and keep it , it is broken any way it stopped working ". She tells me ..... " I just packed them up about ... 5 years ago ". ( It looks like they are still around yet. ) The darn thing works too and keeps great time since yesterday on the desk...... . All I did was shake it real good and it started to run. ( Well one more for the shelf ..... . ) Can not open it so later I'll see what is in it for a movement.

A coworker returned from the southest and presented one of the fake rolexes to me many, man, years ago. I did open the back, wasn't too familiar but saw it was jeweled. That watch kept great time for nearly a year I wore it daily. At the time I was surprise someone could make as "fine" a mechanical watch as it was, and then not put THEIR name on it. The fit and finsh weren't there by any stretch of the imagination. I think the coworker gave $15USD at the time. Imagine an automatic watch for work for $15? Again a new mechanical automatic for $15? I passed it on to my dad as a gag gift and he continued to where it for some time.
Hope you can get as good of life out of it. Maybe you could mod it into a Black Bay homage?

Aloha , It is still running strong and on time too. It is clean and well kept whoever had it. It will just probably be a shelf object if the movement is a Hoax..... . _________________________________________________________________ I have another ( Impersonator ) also here also on the shelf. A ( Just trying to look like one of those Omega's ....... ) ... but it also keeps good and very accurate time and everything works. Got it free from a guy at Church that said he found it in a bag of ...... Fashion Watch's last year. Aloha Louis Back says it is a ....James bond ..... .
