I took this Felsa apart at the start of the year and completely forgot about it (I hadn't even uploaded the photos of the disassembly). I put it back together today to see if it had improved any since having a clean, and I've now got a 'stuttering' movement. You can see the pallet isn't moving 'in beat' - anyone any ideas as to why? I haven't touched the balance cock but have noticed the regulator seems a fair way out.

Did you oil the palette stones? Did the Palette move free under gravity back and forth when you tilted the movement so it could fall one way and then the other?

So I've moved the regulator back to a more 'natural' position and it's improved things no end - I suspect the hairspring was being pulled out of position. It's still got issues as the timegrapher is showing a poor trace on the exit so I suspect the pallet needs further cleaning.

Yes, it was visibly obvious that the balance was not swinging as far on the tick as the tock. That can be due to the balance spring touching the cock in compression or decompression.
