I just heard of false vivipray.
What is badder ass than a big trap or a crowded pot full of traps: a phuking Venus Flytrap tree.
Maybe someday one of mine will do it. Pics borrowed from the web.

Well the other day I found out The Big Green Stalk and The Inseminator are both sterile
It turns out that someone on a CP forum let me know that the brand that uses the brown pots sell sterile plants.
And I thought I didn't get any seeds cuz I was a bad gardener.
Turns out I wasn't.
So I am going to stop cutting off the flower stalks from my Death Tray plants and hopefully score some seeds.

How does one sterilize a plant?

How does one sterilize a plant? You have to lift it's leaves and look underneath...no plumbing, it's sterile

Well I came home today and found this: either the spider tripped over one of my baby venus fly traps and broke his neck or he picked the wrong plant to phuk with.

It depends on what country you live in or even what state you live in in the United States.
Some states won't even allow you to ship or transfer live plants in a pot.
They have to be shipped bare root with all active growth cut down or some shit like that
In New Zealand Cape Sundews are considered invasive species if you believe Wikipedia.
I can attest they are popping up in some of my other pots somehow so I tend to believe it.

Today was a good day bug killing wise.
In the other lab The Inseminator who was low and clumpy but dividing until I got plant shamed on a CP forum for growing them indoors (safe queen) instead of outdoors like most of my plants are (daily wearers) and where Judy Bloom died which was my only purebred in my collection anywho I put the Inseminator and the Big Green Stalk under different lights and they started to perk and red up and today it actually caught a fly which is rare and a first for me.
And it was still trying to escape when I got home so I had to shove it full in to prevent the trap from dying due to a head sticking out.

Recent addition to the grow lab.
I borrowed it from a friend at work since all of his plants are now planted and he wasn't using it anymore.
He said he bought it off of Amazon (which equals China) so who knows what you are really getting.
I will give it a try for a short while that way if is doing nothing and actually putting out no useful light I don't want to hurt my plants.

2 new Inseminator offshoots.
If you get a new plant to grow from a cut off flower stalk it is called a "strike".
Not very easy to get to happen.
These 3 came from The Inseminator.
I think I'll do like those TV shows like CSI and NCIS do when they create the same show but in a different city.
I will name them Inseminator: Lucky Strike and Inseminator: Las Vegas
These accidental leaf pulls came from the Death Tray plants.
It seems you are almost always guaranteed a new plant from a decent leaf pull.
I was looking for a bushy plant so I could pull all of the leaves off of it but we haven't had any since April and the local garden center stores only have sickly looking ones.
Maybe I'll have to wait until spring if I am still there.

Dewey looks like he is goign to flower again.
And of course I can't find the picture of the last time he flowered in spring
Cape Sundews self pollinate by jacking themselves off so you can keep them inside with out having to deal with any pollinator bugs or getting out your paintbrush 2 or 3 times a day.
Last time there were over 39 flowers on the stalk.
Unfortunately I didn't know you are supposed to get the seeds before the stalk dries out and turns all black.
And the seeds are microscopic.
I saved the dried up stalk and basically just crumbled it over the pot which is why there is a lot of plant matter there that shouldn't be. I did spot a few seeds coming out as I crumbled it up.
Little Deweys
And maybe the Wu Dew.
If you can grow on a stick then . . . . . .
I had to try and resuscitate the Sundew I gave my mother for Mothers Day that had 5 leaves that were dry and after a month or 2 it only had the same 5 leaves and no dew since it was inside.
I threw it outside and it started to come back to life to the point I was ready to give it back when a torrential downpour washed off all the dew so I had to keep it for a while more.
Well maybe it was a good thing since it is also going to flower soon.

Big Green Stalk and The Inseminator
February 20
Today
WOW . . . thay sure have filled out. Had no idea this plant flowered!
Question: Do they need to eat bugs to survive or can they survive on water, light and the nutrition in the soil? If they need protein to survive, how do you make sure they get enough?
Inquiring minds want to know (at least mine does)!
