Here is my new watch the Straton Syncro. Straton is a micro brand on kickstarter. Ran by one guy Kyle who designs his watches and then produces in the Far East using a meca-quartz and Seiko auto Ne88 movement. Brand is racing inspired retro designs. I fell in love with the design when I saw it in prototype on a Facebook community I'm in. I put my money down for the meca-quartz cal VK64 as I could not stretch to the auto (despite really wanting a auto chrono) You get to choose the design of bezel, colour of dial (I think 3 options) strap or bracelet and two racing inspired NATO straps. Also two sizes 40mm and a 44mm, I chose 40 and glad I did it's my sweet spot for my thin wrists. I put in my order in February when my watch collection was around 8 (now at 44 and growing!) Kickstarter was a success and due to reaching a bigger target another bracelet / strap choice was offered. Today it arrived and I'm fascinated by the detail in the design from bezel motion to the tachometer ring , hands and case finishes. Screw down crown and nice clicky chrono buttons. Case is a high 15mm but at least it has domed sapphire crystal to take the knocks. Comes in a lovely leather storage / travel case and a nice spring bar tool. So here it is.

Thanks for sharing this Mike, that's a really nice watch I really like the dial and bezel, unusual design and very retro! I think you chose well looking at the options available, that's a really eye-catching colour scheme. Looks good on the mesh as well. Good choice!

I like it. Reminiscent of old chronos and more modern Pulsar y182-6d10

Thanks Nick all in it was around £280 which when I'm normally buying retro Seikos for £20 is a quantum leap away. I had regretted the purchase until I received today and now I love it and pleased I took the plunge. With his kickstarter campaigns if you get in early you get some big discounts. I signed on the day of opening!

I like it. Reminiscent of old chronos and more modern Pulsar y182-6d10 Thanks. Yes you can see many design Qs within the watch from many past models but still with a modern theme. My only downside is no second hand. You can start the chrono which is lovely and smooth due to that meca-quartz but it's only a 60 minute so you can't keep it running. Not sure I like a big orange hand stuck at 12... auto version has a different setup so you get a moving hand.

It's a good'un Mike, very retro chic. I like the tall font on the date complication. Less keen on the 24hr sub but maybe that's me, I was taught how to change between the two when I was about ten and never forgot.

That's a nice one, Mike. It's got the 70s vibe about it and you've picked a great colour combination.

I like the design. Not in love with the bezel, though. I'd prefer it a bit flatter.
