The poor thing . . . . a moment of silence please . . . .
What a shame . . . doesn't look like that one can be saved.

I do think the bezel, insert, case, and crown are certainly usable. If this auction went for more than $150, I would then call it overpaying, but that's just me.

I wouldn't mind trying my hand at restoring her.
This is how I feel about dead watches...
Sometimes I'm successful , sometimes not. Worth a try though.

Just checked the auction out and in case anyone does happen to be THAT interested in it........... Seller has stated that he has already gotten "back door" offers of $275.00 - $300.00 for it!! Good luck on that!

Good luck on that! I have no doubt it'll go for around that price. That'd be insane. I don't doubt that you're right, but that's nuts. Especially considering that I saw a very very nice all original slightly wabi'd 6105-8110 with a horseshoe caseback sell for a measly $390 or so a few weeks ago. I didn't even bother sniping it because I knew it would sell for close to $700. And boy did I curse when I saw the final price. I've gotten in watches that weren't quite that bad in terms of water intrusion - a 6117 navigator comes to mind. It had nowhere near this amount of visible damage. In the end, all that was good was the main plate and some of the screws. Oh, and the datewheel I think.

I bet before the days end however that the listing will be ended!? I could be wrong tho!
