I'm glad you've got them all together, Jon. I miss my silver one a bit, but it was just a bit too small for my liking and I needed the money more than the watch This is a hugely underrated model in my opinion. It's basically a baby pogue. Actually...there's a nickname that we all love "Pogue Junior" Mr. "I can't remember all the silly nicknames you kids give them watches" now makes up his own...

I so happy to see I'm not the only one with set-itis. Beautiful watches, I always love being introduced to a new model that has a green dialed version.

Now that I know these are Pogue JR's I'll have to revisit my 6020, 6023, + 6319 project box to bring a few more back on line........... Even Pete has a Pogue Jr! Right Pete??.............

Nice collection Jon! There's nothing like a complete set! Except, another complete set........... Good thing were all set with a complete set as we watch the values go up as interests are Spiked......... Thank you again for letting me acquire your "extra" green dial. Your quintet is captivating ! You're welcome Jon! But, dagnabit, I just discovered I let go of my plain dial green 6023 while holding on to the Proof version. All I needed was a green resist for the "complete set"......... :imok:

Hello all, I see this is topic for Seiko 6119. I am looking to identify watch that my Dad had. I know it was Seiko 5 sports automatic, he bought it in the early 1970's. Watch has one button/crown, inner bezel, day-date and second hand is red color with small circle at the top. It seems it is one of the 6119. My problem is that 6119-6020, 6119-6023 and 6319-6000 looks identical. Picture below is the best I could find from family albums. picand one more picAny help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hey Olorin. Glad you found Wrist Sushi. Saw your thread on the other forum. The more I think about it, I believe the bracelet will steer you in the right direction. One of the 6119 models has a dead ringer to your dad's watch.

I have always liked the 6119-6023 and its cousin references 6119-6020 and the 6319-6000. Nice case shape, nice size, fully rotating inner bezel ring for timing events, and the ever so cool red sweep second hand. All dials feature a Light Blue "SPORTS" with Proof/Resist (or blank), jewel count at 6 o'clock, with classic clean Seiko "5" at 12. Clean design, passes the test of time beautifully, really great to wear. So underappreciated in my book. We see a lot of these on WRUW threads and they can be easily gotten on ebay, though very good condition can be hard to find. I hope over time more love can be shown to this really classic Seiko reference. I've had several of each silver, black and blue versions over the years. Time allowed for slow improvements to some and just plain full-on replacements to improve others. With these 3 color dials in good shape each, I thought I was done collecting. But wait ! - Jonas (aka Mr Jones) recently alerted me to an ebay job lot with the yellow dial version among the many. So after winning the lot I had it to refurbish the yellow dial specimen. All the hard work and time and effort and spare parts and regulating later, with good luck too, managed to sell off the rest. A lot of work but worth it in the end to have a really clean yellow dial in the collection. It was worth it. So I had "All 4 dial colors" and was done collecting. Or so I thought ! But noooooo! Tristan (aka Tritto) posted about a green dial one he flipped years ago. Whaaaaaaat? Another color? My work was not done collecting? This WIS stuff is never ending! Googling for a green dial 6119-6023 turned up, of all things, an old WristSushi for sale post from Tom (aka SeikoPsycho). A quick PM confirmed he never bumped the post nor did he ever sell it off. So a deal was struck. Thank you Tom ! Finally, I can rest, all 5 dial colors, all in really terrific condition. Here they are sporting different bracelets as follows, L to R: Yellow Dial on NOS B065 Razor Green Dial on NOS Z032 H-Link Blue Dial on NOS B155 Railroad Tracks Black Dial on Stelux unidentified bracelet, part mini-President/part fishbone Silver Dial on Uncle Seiko Flat Link My only 'regret' is that I don't have a PROOF dial in this photo, the proofs I do have just are not top shelf preservation quality. Now - show us YOUR 6119-6020 / -6023 or even 6309-6000's ! What an absolutely beautiful collection!

I hope this is the right place because whole topic is about 6119. Would you be so kind to tell me in which Seiko catalog have you seen the same bracelet? And is it -6020 or -6023?

Could be, but I don't think dial is green, it's either black or dark blue

First off Welcome to Wristsushi ! I have linked in the photos so we can all see your Dad's watch better. Yes the 6119-6020, 6119-6023 and 6319-6000 all look identical for the purpose of trying to tell from photos like these. The 6119-6020 has a larger 6 mm crown, the 6119-6023 has a 4.5 mm crown. Can we spot the extra 1.5 millimeters in these photos? Maybe that's the bigger 6 mm but really that's a hard call to make. If you had a photo of the case back, even blurry where you can't read the numbers, they are different styles but how could you have such a photo I know that's a longshot. The 6319-6000 (I had one before I went all in with the 6119-6023's) is essentially the same watch case in appearance. It too had the 4.5 mm crown. It was updated with the newer (more modern in the 1970's anyway!) 6319 movement which was a step above the 6309 movement indicating it was to be a more robust watch by design. Anyway no way to tell from these photos but if it helps numbers made I see way more 6119-6020/-6023s for sale than 6319-6000, but none are rare.
And finally as Cobrajet says, it could be a 6106-6057 !

A black 6000 and 3 6023's I could do with getting the right straps.

Why not conjecture a 7019-6000 while we are all playing the 'guess what the blurry picture from decades ago shows?"
