Found this on one of my forays into the depths of the bay. I don't think I've seen a watch marked Seiko & Ricoh before. The button on the side of the case interests me a bit, it doesn't look to be an alarm, maybe it's to advance the day ? I wonder what the red logo stands for ? Anyone know about these ?

It's a genuine Ricoh that somebody has doctored up with 'SEIKO' on the dial and rotor. The two companies have never been associated as far as I'm aware.

Why the heck would someone even bother doing that ? Seems a lot of fiddly work to go to for very little gain. I wondered if it was a wrong 'un.

Not being a big fan of undisclosed Frankens/Mods I have to confess to quite liking that due to the split day/date (and............er...... having just bought a completely honestly described cobbled watch mod from another forum member can't condemn it !)
Damn, I think my purist face is slipping.

WOW.
If it is 1970 and you live in a 3rd world country and cannot afford a real Mustang 5.0, I mean Seiko 5, take some used junkyard donor badges and stick them on your Datsun, I mean Nissan, and 40 years later you have that one.
