Well, this is mostly Swiss, so forgive me for posting in this forum - There's "watchmaking", but no sub-forum fits the bill...
Not really off-topic, too. Mods: Please move if you think it is better put in another sub-forum.
A week ago, I found this ebay listing:
wristsushi.proboards.com/post/180084/thread
which the vendor was really underselling: 1-word title, two sentences description. Pictures to run away. Which, thankfully, most of other potential bidders did.
So, uh - what was it that caught my eye?
That round black shadow had to be a "big Bertha", or #5700 case back opener. Might it be even a genuine Bergeon one?
Lovely attention to detail in the packaging...
NOT!
Where was I? Ah yes...
Yes, yes it is!
The seller was a 0 reputation "new member" on ebay, so I guess that didn't help the sale either for him. Actually, it curbed my enthusiasm a bit as well, but that red boxes... Jaxa tools? Bergeon is yellow, so that's out. But. Swiss?
Yeah, Swiss!
And two of them. One's in better condition and the inserts have gone missing for the most part, but hey...
The rest is not as spectacular, but still there is lot to find in there.
A bracelet cutter (motor is running).
Another band cutter/notcher (for leather bands), sadly missing most of the punches.
And yet another type of band cutter (also leather)
A pin remover / partially complete staking set? I think there's something missing on the base... Sadly the wooden box didn't contain the rest of the staking set.
Lots of pincers / pliers / band tools / screwdrivers (mostly Philips head?) and other tools
That's not all there was in there. I got loads of replacement screwdriver blades, punches for bracelet pins, replacement parts for the FOUR band tools.... Gold-colored Bracelet parts and pins as well.
Here in all it's glory:
Now, this all wasn't cheap mind you. I could have gotten a whole lot of Seikos for that money.
Well, at Ramon's I could have.
At Amazon, maybe one.
One Seiko 5.
...
You want to know, don't you?
I paid the princely sum of 112,- Euros plus 5,99 shipping.
(I was prepared to pay a lot more, but no one bid higher than that...)
So, yeah. Mr.Jones hits the mother lode. Thanks for reading!
Addendum a) Box of spring bars with a nice sign, saying: "keep in order!!!"
Addendum b) Assorted service parts for Swatch watches. There's also a plastic holder type block (you can see it in the overview pic) that's made for Swatch watches...
