I love blue dialed watches, yet blue isn't my favorite color, not even in the same family. Orange and yellow are, and since I was fortunate enough to get an Orange Sumo, I needed to get a yellow one. However, they are quite pricey... and have red text on the dial, not a fan. So I figured it would be easy enough to get a yellow dial from another Seiko and do a swap. One thing, have you ever tried to look for a yellow date only Seiko automatic dive watch? After some serious deep digging I have realized that there are none, except for the aforementioned Sumo, and I am not about to buy that. So I had to look for alternatives, which were also few an far between. My only real option for an OEM dial was the SKXA35, which now has a cult following and those watches are fetching upwards of $350. So unfortunately for this mod I had to go with an aftermarket dial. However that still left me with a problem, I was still planning on using the 6r15 movement, but I needed a day disc. So I hit up my 'mentor' for all things Seiko, Duarte, and he gave me the run down on all of the parts that I would need to make the conversion happen and off I went. Here are the results! Parts List: [*]SBDC031 [*]"Philippian Special" yellow dial [*]Yobokies black Sumo hands
Day Wheel Parts List: [*]Day Disc [*]C-Clip [*]Day Corrector [*]7s26C Hour Wheel

I'm actually enjoying it more than I thought I would. I think the excessively large black lines around the lume add a nice balance with the black chapter ring and bezel insert.
