Some of my watches... Since this is a Seiko forum, I'll start with one of my favorite watches. This was my Dad's Seiko. He bought this in 1980. I wear this all the time. Another favorite, this Movado was also my Dad's. He got it 1968 for 25 years of service at his job. He wore this all the time and it looked it. I got it in 1993 after he passed away. I put it in a drawer for over 15 years (it didn't work) before I decided to have it repaired and made to look nice again. I almost didn't want to have the scratches buffed out, knowing that he had put the scratches in it. I decided that it would be better if it looked as good as when he got it in 1968. I recently bought this one. These are usually out of my price range, but this kind of fell into my lap and I couldn't pass it up. The seller was a friend of my youngest son who was cleaning out his grandfather's attic. He had an offer from a local jeweler (who had verified it was real) and all I had to do was beat the offer... I have this ~40/50's vintage Elgin that I know nothing about. It's much nicer than the pics nice finish and has a perfect faceted crystal. I had a real hard time getting a good pic. It's a tiny watch though. Too small for me to wear, but I do like it. Compared to a modern Citizen watch. An oddball is this Russian watch. This is very a very heavy watch.

The stories attached to these watches are very endearing. They are a small totem of who they belonged to and how you acquired them. I appreciate that. Nice collection 👍🏻

That Elgin is one of the first ones I took apart years ago and broke...Ahh to have a Rolex fall into my lap. It never seems like the timing is ever right...Nice group of watches... As for the scratches, and Rolex. I work with a couple of brothers , and when their dad died the older one got his dad's Rolex that he had gotten for a "years of service award"... When he wore it for the first and took it off to show me; it had a smudge of something on it,no idea what. I was tempted to wipe it away but thought better of it. Talking to the younger brother later in the day about the watch..I guess he did clean it, and his older brother broke down...he said the moment he did that he knew he'd screwed up...My father had his fathers Omega in a drawer, hands floating, not running, dial stained, and I had it refinished for him so many years ago...I have know idea now as I type this if I did right or not.
