If anyone wanted to offer me $10.5k for mine I would take it in a heartbeat. HODINKEE seems to have a habit of picking dealer listing and assuming their over-inflated price is the going rate. I think the same watch was recently listed on eBay and subject to some very suspect bidding between two low feedback accounts. It got at almost $10k and the listing was then cancelled just outside the 24hr limit for cancelling an auction.

That's a very smart Omega, Tristan. Nice strap aswell. I like the hands on it, too. Thanks, Guy. It's a smart little watch and I'm very happy with the way the strap compliments it. I may have to make a black strap to go with it too as I'm thinking of wearing it to a wedding next month.

Hi. I would not have thought this was intended to be a budget Seamaster at 30mm in size. I have a Seamaster from that era currently being serviced and getting new crystal and it’s 36mm.Crystal is $120 btw. The movement is the same for both and also in the Tissot equivalent.Cheers Phil

Per the low cost comment, I guess the Ranchero (and similar Seamasters) are low cost compared to the diver spec Seamaster 300s of the era. As for size, the movement is 30mm in diameter, but the case is 36mm like your Seamaster. I'm glad I didn't have to fork out $120 for the crystal. I think it was about £20 from Cousins.

The 30T2 and subsequent cal 265, 266, 267, etc. calibers are 30mm diameter movements. I have a soft spot for these watches. :-)

Hi. Don’t forget the Tissot line from the same era. Much cheaper these days and often the same watch. Cheers Phil
