So we all have our personal lives, which for the most part does not make it on to the forums. Wanted to share a bit about the last 5 or so months of my life. This is a picture of me getting ready to go home after 13 weeks of hospital and aftercare facility stays. A week long coma another 2 weeks in intensive care and 10 weeks in aftercare. They had me on it anti biopics for 30 days And to top it off a 45 pound loss of weight. So much for the last 4 years of working out in the gym. All I can say is rarely will someone experience the terror of being revived from a coma and realizing you can’t breathe because there is a breathing tube shoved down your throat. You have no idea where you are or why your there and you can’t talk. It has forever changed me. So now I have to get my body to do what it’s been doing for years, walk! I hope that I will be ready to return to work in probably 4 or 5 months. I do not have the energy to try to explain everything that happened to me. One thing for sure a higher power decided it was not my time and for that I’m very great full! Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all! Stephen AKA catkicker

Welcome back Stephen! I'm so glad to hear that you're on the mend. I'm a cancer survivor so I can really identify with finding out that it wasn't my time yet. Every day that we wake up is another day to celebrate that we are still here! Stay strong!!

Wow Stephen, it just shows that behind the WIS’s there are real people who have their trials and tribulations. Wishing you a speedy recovery and that 2019 brings you full health.

Glad your on the mend and determined to recover. Not everyone who experiences significant events as yours has the mind set to actively recover and invest in it. I look forward to what this year will bring for you.

That is one heck of a journey you've been on Stephen. Not that you needed perspective anyway but sharing such a personal account reminds us all to remain humble and grateful. It sounds like you are on the road to recovery and I'm sure that all who know you in some form or capacity are indeed grateful. We're all here to cheer you on and wish you nothing but the best for 2019 and beyond.

WOW . . . . that must really be undescribable. I will say a prayer for you and petition God (the higher power you mention) for a speedy and complete recovery.
Take it easy and get well soon.
