I agree with your sentiments, the coin edge is very attractive. One of these days, I may need to acquire an 8000. One of the components that I have fallen for, are the hands on the MM. When I first got it, I knew I loved it...but couldn't really nail down what it was. I believe it is the hands that really do it for me.

I have to agree about the coin edge bezel. I wish Seiko had made the 6309-7040/7049s with them as well. This 6309-7040 MOD has a 6105 bezel on it!

I also agree about the coin edged bezel guys, such a simple, basic design without any excess fluff whatsoever. As for the hands on the MM, possibly the coolest looking handset of all the Seiko divers and the brushed finish kills it. I also love the crown on the 8000, the name just sits there soooooooo cool. I'm currently, well, since the moment I first put it in my hand actually, having a serious love affair with the shape, lines and finishes on the Cameltoe case and the inwards taper on the bezel edge, and I mean like a schoolboy with a new Hot Wheels, I even keep wiping smudges off the sides of the thing . . . what an idiot !!! Really though, I can things to drool over on all of them, the 7548's, 7C43's, Tuna, 6309's . . . damn, they're Seikos !!!
