A quick introduction, been viewing on here for a while and joined a few months ago, but finally got round to introducing myself. My main interest is the early Seiko quartz analogue watches from the 1970's, my earliest being an August 1972 3803, which pre-dates the 2002 export and the JDM 'Q series' dial marking, which appear to start a few months later in October/November 1972.
Before the rise in interest in these early quartz watches I managed to accumulate about 30 4004's, with 0903 and 4633 movements, though sadly they are now harder to find cheaply. I have recently got interested in the Seiko EL electronic watches and have a nice working EL330 and a couple of spares watches, a EL370 and another EL330 that I suspect should work if I understood how the contact system on these early models works/are adjusted. . I'm quite happy stripping/rebuilding the quartz models but tend to stay clear of anything balance spring related! Anyone on here familiar with these, or interested in a challenge? Regards John...

Welcome John. Those watches sound interesting! I'm a mechanical diver guy myself but find all Seikos interesting!

Welcome! I’ve just started getting interested in the early electronic Seiko’s, not bought any yet but love reading about them, and we all know that buying usually follows soon after!

No problems, as mentioned above I have a 'few' 4004's, the vast majority acquired as non runners, so am quite conversant with most variations......
