I was working on this about 2 weekends ago. I incredibly managed to lose the seconds hand . Currently sourcing a replacement. I have changed the crystal to a sapphire one but it has to come out again as I noticed there is some fluff on the crystal edge between 6 and 7.
Also, the relume on the hour hand has shrunk and I'll have to re-do it, thin layer after thin layer.
Still not sure on whether to change the bezel insert, assuming I can find a replacement, or leave as is.

Finally found a Seiko SOG from an estate sale! The original owner was in Special Forces and I plan to keep the watch as original as possible. It only had one springbar which was so seized up I had to use a Dremel to get it off. No worries, I didn't touch the case at all! I added new spring bars and a period correct strap and that's about all I have the skills to do. It's running fine, but I still need to find somebody to service it as I'd like to get it in tip top shape.

7dfe79adc2f0 The bezels seem to have aged the same way, like peas in a pod.

If possible find out just who owned it, type out the information about it and keep it in a box for it. Make a TAG for it with the original date it was used when found out. Chase the information if you can. I serviced that be great but lightly do the Dial and keep it Original if possible. Later you can find a Compass for if wanted.
