Hi All, I'm an American living in Norway who has an interest in Japanese watches (mainly Orient and Seiko). I just picked up a King Seiko 4502-7001 and am interested in learning more about vintage Japanese watches in general. Looking forward to participating on these boards!

Regarding the 4502, I'm currently on the hunt for parts. Would you happen to have a pdf of the service manual for the 4502? Specifically, I'm looking for the part # for the caseback gasket. Already know the part # for the crystal (300V07GNS) and crystal gasket (EC2818B).

I’m in Oslo too. Maybe if we can find some more vintage Seiko nerds we could have a meet up! The gasket for the caseback is FH3020B, which Martin kindly let me know in the comment section of this post: adventuresinamateurwatchfettling.com/2016/01/30/and-rise-again-disaster-recovery/#commentsI’m not sure if there is a replacement, the originals are often discontinued. I’m planning on sending two KS to servicing, but I am unsure what parts they can provide or if it’s best to try to source a ”kit” myself.

I’m planning on sending two KS to servicing, but I am unsure what parts they can provide or if it’s best to try to source a ”kit” myself. We should definitely have a meet-up! I'm leaving next week for a two-week holiday, but I'll start a thread over in the meet-up section once I return. I just e-mailed Martin as well after finding his blog haha. I looked for the caseback gasket online with that part # but no luck. Martin said that for flat O-rings (the type used for caseback gaskets) you can usually find a generic size on Cousins that will fit. Regarding the parts for servicing, I think it depends who you send it to. I just sent mine to Frank at TimeZone in Costa Mesa, CA for an overhaul. I'm actually picking it up from him in LA on my trip next week. He was able to source o-rings (although I don't know if they're OEM or a generic that fits) and also a NOS crown for me. My crystal is still in good condition so didn't need replaced, but I just purchased a NOS crystal here on the forums to have on hand for later overhauls (I figure 8-10 years down the road when I have this serviced again the NOS parts are going to be next to impossible to find). If you're worried about parts, best thing would be to contact the repair shop ahead of time to see what they would be able to source for you. Some shops have better "connections" than others.
