You have all the the poisonous and venomous creepers, crawlers, and swimmers. What's an ugly toad more? ...I kinda like it, though.

Sorry but I like it too.
Should have been titanium.

In 30 years time people will be arguing on forums over whether this is a real Seiko or cobbled together from parts a la Aussie Pogue!

Like how a UK pogue has all original AM parts and minty. ππ Not getting into the Aussie Pogue debate, think that has been settled. But how about yellow rotating ring and blue dial? Oh wait there's one on eBay and it's very rare.π€

You meant to say 'how come we Aussies finally get a really cool protective box that up until now only Jonas and his German friends get?"
I agree it is is a bit of a parts bin mash-up but I am partial to most of these SRP based versions. This one is not my favorite but I think it might look a bit better on the black rubber strap I spy inside that wicked cool cocoon of a protective shell. Hopefully the hardware on that is blacked out too.

While I am not in love with the overall look, I think THAT is the dial that the SRP775 SHOULD HAVE had!

It's expensive but not ugly.

I wouldn't call it ugly either but really, another limited edition? I'm more curious about the packaging....are lunch pails trending in Australia?

Did Seiko hire ex-Invicta executives and designers? Anyone know?

I donβt get this slagging off the design - design-wise, to me at least, itβs pretty comparable to a golden tuna. Sure, itβs just yet another LE SRP but it isnβt that bad.

The older I get, the less I dislike gold.
That said, the SRP775 is about my limit for gold on a wristwatch.

The older I get, the less I dislike gold. That said, the SRP775 is about my limit for gold on a wristwatch. This was my limit for gold... But the way the end links fit the case made it uncomfortable to wear. Otherwise, a beautiful watch. So I sent it off to 'siralan' to do with as he saw fit.

For me the combination of gold with black PVD just looks tacky. There have been some really nice 'turtle' variants, but this one is a step too far.

I wouldn't buy one even with a stolen credit card.
I DO like the BIG ASS X on the dial though
The gold really brings it out on this one

That debate is over. My dad had one and bought it new. First hand contemporaneous account.
