I was really amazed with the 6R15 movement in the blue Sumo that I bought through the SCWF trade forum. I set it to the US Naval Observatory clock on the web and when I checked it after a week, it had only lost 15 seconds! WOW . . . around 2 seconds a day . . . amazing!
I'm also pretty impressed with the 4R36 movement . . . . haven't done a really thorough test like I did with the Sumo but it's also extremely accurate!
So . . . what do other members have in terms of accurate auto movements?

Bob, I'm not sure if this is usaul or not, but it appears as though my recently obtained Sumo has lost a little under ten seconds in two weeks . . . I keep doubting it then I check against the national phone clock and it seems correct . . . I am doing the handwind routine every now and again . . . weird, in a good way.

Mine is a Chinese VCM... It is a 'near' chronometer grade watch. I say that because they wee never certified by COSC yet they can run consistently under 5 seconds per day in all positions(don't know about temperature). This one averaged slightly over 1 second fast per day when tested/monitored over a 30 day period! The largest swing during that time was less than 5 seconds slow and 4 seconds fast. These differences were no doubt due to my wearing pattern and activity. My best Seiko is this one which I have tweaked to be stable at 10 seconds slow per day. That is a consistent 10 seconds every day. With consistency like this; I am reluctant to mess with it.

My Sumo at first lost maybe a second a day. Having a watch with those looks and that kind of accuracy did wonders for my confidence. Out went my high waisted pants and in came the Zoot suit with matching Peacock feathered Tando. I'd strut around my quite cul de sac waving my cane at one and all shouting what time it was. Life was cool baby. Sadly it wasn't to last. It now looses 5 seconds a day. My most accurate auto was a serviced 6309 that went a month without loosing/gaining a second.

I'd pay to see pics of that stroll Chris!

One of my Swiss autos has run +0.7 sec/day since I got it 2 years ago. That's 20 seconds per month. I set it 10 seconds slow on the first of the month and watch it go to dead-on on the Ides and then be +10 at the end of the month.
I can't seem to get a Seiko or Citizen into the incredible category yet, but my modern Seiko5 7S26 is +6-8 sec/day when worn which ain't half bad.

My previous (I have the identical Mil Mod now) military modded SKX173 lost one second in 5 weeks continuous on the wrist.
My China made Alpha GMT Pepsi was also gaining 1 second a day constantly.
My ex Sumo was gaining 1.5 seconds a day.
Now I am working (Observing) on the accuracy of my second Mil Mod SKX173. Update will come soon.
My birth year 6117 - 8000 Ca. 1969 is losing 1 second a day.
My China made Chronotac GMT also was extremely accurate, +1 second a day!
Accuracy is one of my weakest points!

Best I own is my 7002-7009 - a few seconds per day. Best I ever rebuilt was a 6138-3000 for it's original owner. He tells me it's consistent at a few seconds per week. He's an accuracy nut and he swears this is true, and he wears it as a daily. Best I knew of was a friend who bought a garden-variety 7S26 dress watch off of Amazon for around $50. He said it was accurate to a few second per month. I dismissed this as impossible out of hand, but when he visited a few months later I put the watch on my timegrapher. Totally flat accuracy. No variation at all, none. Unfortunately, he left the watch on top of his car at some point. RIP Seiko.

I don't own too many mechanicals anymore but I managed to regulate this Orient Star GMT to within a couple second per week. Just dumb luck.

There is one up now on the Bay for $495. entertaining Best Offers. Very tempting. I like the 171 gram wt. - heavy matches big and I've got a Bulova Precisionist at 226 grams which is OK but does get old by the end of a long day, so I know this is right in that good sweet spot.

My previous SBDC-001 / 6R15 Sumo was approx. 6 + sec per day , my SKZ-325K Stargate is approx 8 + sec per day . My Seiko Ananta Automatic is approx. 1 + sec per day , anything under 10 seconds per day is good IMO .
