Hello !
I’ve always been fascinated by watches and so horology but never got any further than wearing, too scared about the complexity a movement represents.
This summer, dragging on eBay, I fell in love with the/a Seiko 6138 bullhead, which led me to the whole speed Timer range especially the UFO and finally to the 6139 blue Pogue.
I spent some nights (and days) to get to understand the story behind, red tons of buyers guide and finally bought 1 bullhead and 1 UFO. Despite the fact that the prices were fair (still substantial...)I guess that mine are probably not 100% originals.
Of course, both had problems to solve and was the perfect path to get me involved in small servicing (glass, band, pushers, gaskets swops... I never thought they will have problems that would led me to dive deeper in “horology”, which retrospectively, I should have done way before !
So, here I am now buying tools and parts every week to try to “service” these watches as a challenge, learning and having “fun”. Disassembly / Assembly / break parts / order parts / disassembly again / on and on and on...until, hopefully, i’ll Make them work.
I think a lot of you have started this way and I think Wristsushi is the right place to continue to learn !
Cheers.

Welcome to WS! Yes, there is lots of help on here and many of us have learnt a lot from reading restoration posts. I'd do a search on the tinkering forum where you'll find lots of good info.
