In preparation for International Pogue Day I finally got round to replacing the day wheel on my one running Pogue (thanks kue for the replacement 👍🏻). Using the hand setting tool that arrived from Adrian this week made fitting the chrono hands a breeze - seconds chrono went on without a problem. Resets every time bang-on as well. I also cleaned the pushers and replaced the gaskets, and swapped the crown for a correct one. Last, but by no means least, I also sized and fitted my recently acquired Uncle Seiko tapered H-link bracelet.

Did you get the bracelet from the UK site?

Love the President. I have one for my SpeedTimer which came with no bracelet. In fact, every 6138 and 6139 bracelet I have has been swapped for an Uncle Seiko!! 😆 10 times nicer than the originals (except the rare SpeedTimer originals which he would make a fortune if he can replicate to his standards).

Stopped for a top up on the way back from my son’s rugby training and he’s playing the pretty cool maths game. All accompanied by a 007.

Keep those 6139s and Pogues coming as we count down to Saturday's International Pogue Day. Nick yours is a beauty ! Today I am sporting the 6139-7002, which is unique among the 6139 family for its 0-100 marked inner timing chapter ring. I believe it's biggest benefit is when timing multiple events. It allows for recording each timed event expressed as in decimal parts of a minute, so when you go to add a long list of individually timed events you don't have to carry over every 60 seconds (or add up all the seconds and then divide by 60 to get the integer minute count and then go back to subtract out the whole number of minutes to get the leftover seconds, etc. ). Good for adding and then calculating the average, too.
Here is my well preserved 6139-7002 dated July 1971 with RESIST dial / resistant case back.
Mounted on its original Panda style president bracelet.

Not what I’m wearing but rather my father’s daily piece! Gorgeous dial, full of detail. With these complications and Swiss on the dial, and you’ll spend 4 times what this Orient Star costs.

Gorgeous and true to most of that except if it were a good Swiss watch the blued hands would be blued, not made in blue
