I personally like the skx more Thanks for your feed back. I too like the SKX173(even better with the pepsi bezel that would make it an SKX175). But, it has a 7s26 movement that is nearly impossible to regulate to anywhere near what the 7548 quartz module can do. I love that this 2004 SKX still has a nuclear glow to the lume that lasts all night where as the 7548 dial nad hands have little to no lume retention for more than a few minutes(probably due to them being between 20 and 30 years old).

I've had a bunch of 7548s and flipped em all. Blue black and orange dials Black and pepsi bezeks Even with NOS dials and bezels. Just can't get into the seconds hand not moving all the time.

In case you haven't noticed, Jon, I seldom wear a quartz analog. Somewhat more often, a digital. Usually, an automatic, though.

I like how I occasionally look at the watch at just the right instant and it seems to have stopped. Even though it is a split-second thing, in that instant I find myself as a Schrodinger cat.

Same car with different engines. One has a carb, the other electronic fuel injection. They look the same, but one performs far better and requires much less tuning and maintenance than the other. Of course, there are people who swear by good ol' carburetors...
For me, which is 'better' or 'my favorite' would depend largely on... my mood!

The edge for me was the seconds hand, don't really care for the dot/lollipop on the backside. That said I have always got my eye out for a 7548, seems like its a "must have" for the collection.

I like how I occasionally look at the watch at just the right instant and it seems to have stopped. Even though it is a split-second thing, in that instant I find myself as a Schrodinger cat. That’s a thing called Chronostasis. They think it’s a survival thing that allows the brain a bit more time to process first impressions of a scene. Seems to add a tiny bit of paused time when you first look at something. For years I thought it was just me then I read about it in some random article.

I'm a sucker for 7548. Have 4 of them. Love them, quartz and all.

The second hand IS always moving. It is rotating on a planet at around 1000 miles an hour, which in turn is travelling at around 67,000 mph around the Sun. The solar system is travelling at about 500k miles an hour and your quartz crystal is ticking about 33k times a second. The seconds hand, when it does move even quicker, is probably the fastest thing you'll see on an average day. Infact....how quick does a quartz second hand move? Is it about 1.5mm in a couple of milliseconds? I best get some sleep....
