Edit - bloody Tapatalk. Switched the photo order. We had an overflowing loft tank and it caused this on our north facing roof in a few months. Few hours with the pressure washer and a garden broom to sweep up the schmutz that fell to the floor. Attachments:

Must be something in the air, I was up on my flat roof this afternoon getting rid of as much of the moss as I could. Hateful job.

Moss on the roof is quite odd in my parts. I love seeing these photos. Job well done.
The Barclays Center in Brooklyn is a major concert and sports arena in NYC and they cultivate vegetation on the roof ! Quite cool when you see it in person.

We have a small village on Vancouver Island that features a building with a grass roof and it's own lawn mowers... That's a much stronger roof than mine

No, didn’t get it all off as I just had an hour to do remove the bulk of it, was supposed to be away for the weekend so just used what time I could fit in as my roof was starting to leak where the moss was holding all the water. While doing it I thought I should get some, be a job for spring I think. Did it smell like a dirty beach after a storm had washed up loads of seaweed? Mine did  No, but I’m in Berkshire so quite a way from any salt water these days.
