how to successfully remove gold plating from watch band?

well i am nearing the end of all the watch parts i have been searching for
and i have found a beautiful band for one of my watches but it is gold plated...
and i know most would not even consider this...
but i thought i remember somewhere there is a simple way to remove the gold without damaging the band
i believe the band is stainless....
i remember Whink is great for lots of things like Rust and Stain Remover and works great on Titanium anodizing
Has anyone successfully removed Gold Plating?...
i do not want to have to do anything like blasting or anything like that
this band is quite intricate so disassembly and trying to do each piece would be a fools errand....
any help will so be appreciated

You could try using white table vinegar. Place the bracelet in a margarine tub or similar with enough vinegar to completely cover the bracelet.

Let it sit for about 10 secs or less then remove it and rinse with water.

If that works then you may repeat the process until the bracelet is gold free.

I did not think the white vinegar would do it but I have white cleaning vinegar too
