To all of our friends in the UK.
PLEASE make sure you have plenty of supplies on hand so that you can stay in as long as possible.
I heard on Steve Bannon's show War Room Pandemic" that the British government has decided to NOT implement and social policies to slow the spread of the disease. No social separation, no closing of public places and has decided to "let the virus run it's course and wait for the public to develop herd immunity". This is an insane decision and the UK health will have one hell of a time dealing with this as the "curve" spikes and inundates the system's ability to help people.
This is a great place to get GOOD information on what is going on with the virus and NOT the FEAR PORN being spread by the MSM.

People are getting stabbed over here for a pack of Charmin. It's lunacy I tells ya! I suspect that a shortage was the reason but rather some folks were squeezing their Charmin which as we all know is a big no no.

This is an insane decision and the UK health will have one hell of a time dealing with this as the "curve" spikes and inundates the system's ability to help people. Now, I don’t want to get all political but I watched the PMs first briefing this afternoon and have to say I was somewhat underwhelmed by the leadership displayed. You’re kind of correct Bob - there’s been no direct implementation of social measures, just advice. So, mass gatherings in England are not banned but they will not be attended by the emergency services. In other words, they will most likely require to be cancelled by the organisers as I suspect their public liability insurance would be invalidated. This is different to Scotland where the guidance is that they should not go ahead - the devolved Scottish government does not have the power to cancel events, and I suspect it is the same in England and Wales. We’ve been advised to limit all social interaction and avoid pubs, clubs, theatres, restaurants, etc. Again, no outright enforced closure - unlike Ireland for example, where pubs and clubs have been ordered to close. Avoid all non-essential travel - but no real advice on what is classed as non-essential. Likewise for visits to hospitals and care homes. If possible, work from home. Schools remain open. The over-70s have been advised they may have to self-isolate for up to 4 months. This advice in particular is contradictory and fluid. On Sunday it was total isolation, no visitors, groceries and medication to be dropped off at the doorstep. Except in Scotland, where the advice was to limit social contact. Now, today, the over-70s are being told they can go for a walk to exercise and limit their social contact. Anyone with symptoms are now required to self-isolate for 7 days if they live alone, or if not alone the whole household have to self-isolate for 14 days - up from the 7 days of yesterday. As I had a raised temperature, sore throat and headaches on Sunday - we’re now in isolation for a fortnight... even though I’m much better now. A lot of this is in stark contrast to the much tighter restrictions many of our European neighbours are living under, and I just don’t understand why. The Blond Buffoon says it’s all being based on the science - but how is the science different here than, say, in Italy or Spain? I suspect the advice will change daily as a result of the ever-changing nature of the pandemic. Don’t get me wrong, I think our government - in fact, all governments - are working in unprecedented and difficult times, and are having to adapt and react to something no-one has really dealt with before. But I just think our mob aren’t doing it particularly well, and the public are reacting to this.

The problem with governments is that they're lead by the winners of a popularity contest, who're not necessarily qualified to lead in a crisis.

Everything is still pretty calm here in Norway. Just got back from the store this morning and pretty much everything was fully stocked. Hand soap was getting low but there was still a few bottles on the shelves.
Stay safe Americans. From the videos coming out of American supermarkets it seems like the country is one step away from becoming a Mad Max movie.

Stopped at the bullet store after work and it looked pretty much like the grocery store.
Since I drove all the way there I couldn't leave empty handed but would have preferred to leave needing a cart not 2 doubled bagged heavy plastic bags.

What do you guys think is going to happen? Surely crime is down with everyone staying at home.

They just reran a a show about the LA Riots that happened after the infamous Rodney King Verdict, it took the military 4 days to quell that shit. The hoarders are making it tough on everyone. There are some shortages of raw materials supply chains are being disrupted in a very big way, with a global economy and things shutting down across the globe. A town just north east of here is telling its residents to "Shelter in places", well they doesn't seem alarmist! What if you don't have all you need? There is no real plan. A lot of people don't have weeks of supplies to begin with because they are pay check to pay check and it only goes so far...Desperate times means desperate measures..."Plata O Plomo" I have money I could donate to help others, but if there's nothing to buy, it means very little.

Thanks for sharing that. I too noticed the timing between the US-China trade 'agreements' and the outbreak of the virus.
I wonder if we went back and revisited SARS, the bird flu, etc. if we would also see similar coincidences?

I just think we can become too naive & too distracted with our everyday lives to give thought to real motives that may exist.
