Stopped at the bullet store after work and it looked pretty much like the grocery store.
Since I drove all the way there I couldn't leave empty handed but would have preferred to leave needing a cart not 2 doubled bagged heavy plastic bags.
What do you guys think is going to happen? Surely crime is down with everyone staying at home. Bullets look great neatly stacked on the supply shelf next to the 50+ packs of toilet paper.

Are they silver bullets? That's why the Lone Ranger was alone

Around here it is toilet paper and bottled water.
City water is free.
I would never pay for water.
Even if the water supply got tainted just boil it.
I mentioned this at work and someone said if the power goes out and people who have a well their pump won't pump water.
My reply was "Their toilet won't flush either for them to use their toilet paper stash"

You have an electric toilet, Josh? Mine's one of those old fashioned ones we used to have back in the 20th century.
No electric toilet here but if no electricity no well pump no water no flushy flushy
Got electricless water up here and down South

There is a quotient for crime in the Hood and on the Northside.
It usually has to do with the outside temperature.
I call it the "Goldilocks and the 3 bears" theory.
Too cold (has to be under 20°) and crime goes down 10%.
Too hot (has to be over 95°) crime goes down 10%.
Just right 70° to 95° and it is game on.
But the Northsiders don't need a reason to shoot, kill, riot, loot, stand on the freeway and jump on cars or block traffic downtown whenever or wherever they want while the police stand by and watch cuz some people can't be arrested otherwise it will agitate the rest of them.
Stay off the Northside and gear up.

I love this one from the front page of our local newspaper. For those that don't know, Tasmania is an island to the south of mainland Australia.

Say what you will buddy but I swear I saw you over here at the Pac & Run holding old folks up for single ply with a hatchet and a smile.

You heard it here first: I had been saying this for 3 weeks when the TP crisis first hit that any business would say that their bathrooms were out of service to the public because people would be going in there and stealing the TP.
Unfortunately "Big Government" had to step in and close all restaurants and bars and such to thwart my told you so theory.
Some other stores are still open so wait for it.

My trip to Tesco's in 11/03 It has got worse since then. Pretty much all the aisles are the same including perishables as people panic buy anything they can find  Looks like ramen for the foreseeable future.

I called into my local watchmaker at lunchtime (I'd been out to stock up on coffee beans and wine - the important stuff :-) and it was as quiet as I've seen it of a lunchtime. There's usually a line up of 4-5 people wanting battery replacements, band repairs etc), but I was there for 15 minutes without interruption. They don't know if they'll be ordered to shut down or not, but at least have a backlog of work to clear if they have to stop seeing customers. They're in the lucky position of owning the premises and they're buying the business over time from their parents (their dad retired and sold it to the sons) so have minimal fixed costs that will drive them under if they can't generate an income. That's reassuring. However, their parts and consumables suppliers are shutting up shop for the moment so there may be a limit on some of the work they can do. They gave me back one finished job (yay) and I asked them to let me know if they have to shut down so I can take back the other one - I don't want it kicking around a closed up shop for months on end. I've been identified as a key person at work (reassuring!) and asked what I need to work from home, so I guess it will happen eventually.
