Ok, so here's something to contemplate while we're all locked down or planning for a future lockdown. Assuming the corona-pocalyse results in a complete breakdown of our civilisation and you have to go cross country to reach some mythical safe haven, which watch in your collection are you taking and why? Just one.

There are many factors to consider. If I was looking for possible future trade value, I might take one of the two small solid gold watches that I have. However, they're not practical for survival purposes - neither serviced nor in any way water resistant. My choice is my 7549-7010. It's serviced, waterproof to any level I'm ever likely to need, and the most robust watch I have. With a new battery it'll last 3 years (the only downside, but that should get me through the initial societal breakdown). Edit: the lume is also crap. This is tougher than I thought.

This one... No need to worry about batteries, EM pulses or running out of time.

I'd probably hide my Seikos somewhere where I might find them later on.

Would have to be the G-Shock- light weight, powered from any light source, deeply robust, very accurate( even if nuclear power fails). A great candidate for an Apocalypse watch(IMHO)💪🏻 Attachments:

Ditto the G-Shock Square. In my case, it would be my G-5600E-1. Solar, 200m WR, shockproof, perpetual calendar until 2100, stopwatch and alarm functions, and accurate to about +5 to +15 seconds/month depending on the temperature and conditions of use. I assume that during the apocalypse the radio towers would shut off anyway, so Multiband-6 would be useless. But a watch running about 2 minutes fast per year would be the least of my worries. Mine is only about 2 years old, so it should be good for another 10 years or so of service. And if we're being honest, I don't think I would survive even half that long in a true post-civilization scenario.

I'm assuming all others have to be left behind and this is the one watch to rule them all. One watch in times of "The Road" and "Mad Max" 6306. Tough. Reliable. Comfortable. Chunky enough to split skulls or chop wood. Rob

Hmmm, it’s a tough one! My G-Shocks would be good but to put a smile on my face it might be my ArSol. Solar powered, water resist, stopwatch and all that gubbins. And I could change the time digitally and let newcomers watch the analogue hands dance to dazzle them and bring them into the tribe that I rule, prior to taking over the world, mwah-hah-haaaah!

If it is a watch I currently own it would have to be my 6105-8110. What's more appropriate for an apocalypse, now?
If it is a watch I can buy with the proposed stimulus check and there is time before all social order and commerce comes to a halt, then maybe a Marathon GSAR.
That being said, I'd be more concerned about ammo levels than knowing the time...

7002-7000, small and not much to go wrong. It's got a timer/tracker for a perfectly boiled egg and timing forage runs.
Also has a date complication for those days when I have to hibernate.
If a choice for a second one then a digital Casio it would be.

Sad to think that we may actually be entering those times now

Sad to think that we may actually be entering those times now Well in truth I already know I don't have enough ammo. I'll have to bunk at a buddy's. He's got 60 firearms (long and hand) and somewhere north of 50,000 rounds across calibers. And a full dedicated Kimchie refrigerator!

Just kidding, that is something to look up to. I'm nearly there if I count plinking ammo. I'm still set from the 2012 Zombie Apocalypse that never fully developed. Which was hard times with shortage like we have never seen before...My brother a former Marine would joke that I was going to make someone with real training very happy... I'd love to say it would be a GSHock like the other guys but I don't own one...yet. I then thought of me Casio World time, but it doesn't keep that great of time. Thinking the 009 would do the trick over the 777 just because of size...then again...

The most practical choice is my solar powered T touch. Tells the time and where I’m going (compass) how high I am, (altimeter) how long I’ve been there (chrono) when I should leave (timer) when the weathers changing (barometer) and when to be alerted (alarm) But most likely my 6105 apocalypse tested or my air boss for the shear joy of it.

Seems you have not been paying attention to the prophecies.
When we black out the sun to stop the machines (find the reference, no more freebies (if you need a link to the no more free links link in addition to the original reference link it will cost you 3 times as much this time due to the (()) ) your watch will not work.
