This is the less appealing bunch... although there was a time when these were essence material ... strange way this hobby evolves...

You are so right, hobby and taste evolves, I have a "keeper" box of 12, a "second string" box of 12, an "overflow" box of 15, (there's another 20 floating around in the nightstand drawers , boxes, bench) as new pieces arrive there's a bit of relegation and movement between boxes. Makes it fun!
Rob
You've got some great pieces in both boxes!

I forgot to mention the floating around category the âdangerâ I see is that I end up distracted and feel like I am diluting my focus on the main box with the second one and satellites floating around I know less is more but is so darn difficult to decide which ones to let go... I guess this thinking does take away from the focus which otherwise will be directed these days to covid19 thing so I am glad I have this distraction

You've got some real nice pieces in the "less appealing bunch"
I like the Arnie and 6139 SpeedTimer. The poor man's 62MAS would be a winner for me if it weren't re-lumed. I saw you had it for sale. I really want one and have lost 2 eBay auctions for all originals.
Nice website. I read through it last night. That 6105 is a stunner.

Thanks mate! I was hesitant with the relume but Adrian sent some macro shots of the original one and it was ... 𤢠at that time I was convinced (like always ) that I would not sell the watch and wouldnât mind the relume (especially as I knew it would turn out ok) not to mention that I can read the time at 4 am

Loved the SLA017 review so much !
"The crown marked with the word âSeikoâ stands out by far compared to all the other Seiko crowns in the last decades and it is also true to the original. It is at 3âoclock position, with no guards, offers great grip and if the word âSeikoâ lines up with the horizontal profile of the watch you can consider yourself one of the lucky 2000 owners " Mine does, just like a Rolex crown, and it's a great trait that until now I have not seen written anywhere even though I am highly appreciative of this very fine point of ownership.
Thanks also for the view of the movement - I haven't spun the back off and don't plan to either so this was a really nice thing to add.
Well done and thank you.

I've been reading through this and your previous reviews and have greatly enjoyed them. I have also been impressed with the accuracy of my 7548s which run at +/- 3-5 seconds per month. I also have a 6309-7040 inbound with the dreaded stripped crown tube. I've ordered some replacement crown tubes and hope to have this watch back up and running soon. Looking forward to your next review.

I do have other reviews in pipeline and I look forward to writing them. I guess if it werenât for this lock down I wouldnât have gotten the time for these

The section The Bracelets, should the first watch be 7548 and not 7549. A year back I purchased a one owner 7548 on its full length Z199 and went in person to collect and pay. The seller asked why the bidding rocketed at the end...I paid him first and then told him the final price reflected the bracelets value alone...the watch head was a bonus. Years of DNA,

Will correct the typo.

To quote my better half: âthey all look the sameâ Iâve heard that one before. I tried explaining the differences and that I need to collect the various diver references to complete the theme. â...And when my wife tried to prevent me from doing my duty, I âcorrectedâ her...â
