Yeh; you can't wipe your ass with bullets - Yes you can
- Not as effective as toilet paper
- You can also make a list with them
- See?
But if you have no TP what will you write the list on? Regular paper just smears :puke:

Here in Aus at least one state government banned the sale of guns and ammo under its stage 3 lockdown since if you aren't allowed to go out for anything but essential purposes, you don't need ammo for hunting or target shooting. Seems reasonable to me 😉

I, for one, would rather have the means in which to protect myself and family, rather than not. People look for any reason to start looting, it's real.

+1 on the highly dubious figures out of China. Absolutely no way that Spain and Italy have almost 3 times the deaths with a fraction of the overall population, even given the expanse of land mass. I can’t help thinking this is something sent down to teach us a lesson about how we’re living our lives (and, no, I’m not a religious person). When you see the difference that has been made to water courses, air quality and so on in only a short space of time, you surely have to ask some serious questions. I can imagine the world being a very different place once all this has (hopefully) been brought under control. We should all be eternally grateful to our healthcare providers, whether on the front line or working in support functions, our care workers, transport workers and those in retail and logistics helping keep the shelves stocked. And anyone who has stockpiled beyond the reasonable should take a long, hard look at themselves. One question for our US members - what’s with the dramatic increase in gun/ammunition sales and licenses? We Americans are a funny lot....right now I fear civil unrest....if it comes to that there will be no police, etc. to defend you....you must defend yourself...I’m not a “gun nut”...but I’m also not naive...I know that ultimately there is no all-knowing, benevolent law enforcement agency to protect me and my family...that is my responsibility...just like in the “old” days. That is why I am well armed....plus...the bad guys think twice when the good guys are also armed.

trandy , Groundhog66 , I find that nearly as disturbing and depressing as covid-19 itself. It's s result of 200+ years of gun ownership and brainwashing from the NRA.
I feel sorry for those who are so insecure and believe that being armed to the teeth will protect them. Some, maybe but the vast majority will be mowed down like weeds by the bad guys who will have intent and have payed attention.

Reaction is never as fast as action; that's just physics The NRA has nothing to do with it, it's called common sense. I'll tell you who I won't feel sorry for, it's fools like you, who will be the low bearing fruit if something catastrophic were to ever happen, people were literally fist fighting over toilet paper for crying out loud. What do you think would happen if it were a food shortage, or if out water supply was ever compromised? Keep living in your bubble, criticizing those who prefer to be prepared, it's your safe space.

I gotta laugh reading some of these comments. God bless the USA! While y'all are chasing baddies away with sharpened sticks and witty banter or hoping the baddie that broke into your house at 3 in the morning is just misunderstood, I sleep comfortably knowing my family is armed and trained. Our call to the police won't be "please come help!" But rather "no rush guys, we took care of it". Not that I believe something will ever happen, but like Tim said. Better to have it and never need it than to need it and not have it. Funny thing is the majority of people that have ever given me and my wife a hard time about being armed are the same ones that mocked us for having a preppers room full of things necessary during the"unlikely" event that something big happens worldwide and we need to be prepared for societal collapse. But that will never happen right? Anyway, I'm going to outside and play fetch with my Bald Eagle and maybe celebrate my freedom with the placing of raw meat over an open fire.

Sorry Tim but ... 'Reaction is never as fast as action; that's just physics.' Being prepared means you have to be on guard 24/7 and not let your attention get diverted to anything else.
I don't live in a bubble; far from it. The area I live in is rife with gangs and guns. We average one shooting each and every day in my general vicinity. But have people gone out and armed themselves to the hilt? No because we can and do rely on our police force to serve and protect.
We are not prepared to live in perpetual fear because apart from the police, military and the gang bangers, the vast majority of Canadians don't own nor want to own guns.
And, yes, the NRA has a lot to do with it. They have brainwashed America into believing the constitution says they have the right to own and carry arms when in fact that is not the case. Prior to a group of conservative supreme court judges deciding to change what the founding fathers intended; thee constitution only guaranteed and armed state militia. It said absolutely nothing about every Tom, Dick and Harriet having the right to run around armed to the teeth.
Be careful how you throw around the word 'fool'!

Hi. Fortunately most civilised countries don’t have a gun culture and that makes the world a happier place. It’s still morning here and I have not had a drink, when I do I will refrain from looking at some of the sadness expressed here. I don’t see that anyone holding a gun gets true respect. Cheers Phil

I had an eloquent and well thought out reply to your bullshit (no offense intended) comment but I'm on my phone. Dad called and that bastard response disappeared. My new reply is simply "shhh". Brother, you are a Canadian and can't speak with authority about USA matters. Trudeau is trying to hide his blackface and tell women that saying "mankind" is bad. But the whole world knows Trudeau is a twat. As a Canadian you know that the gender non specific guy you have at the helm will lead you into ... A non gender specific safe place? But we down here in Merica (phuk ya) know that we will take care of ourselves without a pantywaste polititian leading us. I've said too much and I've become too serious. Boobies rock! Bring on the bounce!

Ah...the minister of misinformation...this is what the second amendment says: ”A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” And who was the militia? It was the people....everyday people. Period. Please notice that no where is the word “state” included.

Sorry Siri is not always accurate with her spelling/context, thank you for your correction on that. What part of my response made you think you pressed any of my buttons? There you go, always trying to be the martyr, you're such a joke sometimes. "My true colors", gimme a break, Peter...I think I've proven my true colors by helping run a no nonsense forum for as long as I have. Funny thing is, you are typically the root of the drama here, your true colors have been shown to all long ago. I will end this nonsense here, as it will not turn into anything productive.
