Just wanted to introduce myself to the group. I am semi retired now and started to collect and restore vintage watches only last year. I was a racing mechanic in Europe for many years and I see the joy of great engineering through the eyepiece these days. I have many vintage watches that I paid no more than AUD100 each for but I have a particular interest in the early Seiko's as they are a thing of beauty mainly.
I do not want to end up with 'All the gear and no idea' so I have bought my tools slowly and researched the watches I want to get involved with. On my bench tonight are 2 x 5606's one a Lord Matic and the other not branded but the same beautiful movement. I also have a 66B that I love for its simplicity. Many more watches on the job list and hopefully soon I will be able to snag a Bellmatic.
Enough for this evening but great to be involved with like minded watch crazy people.
Keep Safe Rob
