I’ve just finished cataloguing my current collection (wearable watches only) into a spreadsheet, including a photo of each watch. Turns out I have more than twice as many SEIKO watches as non-SEIKO!
Even after off-loading a considerable number to fund my SPB129 purchase, I could wear a different watch every day for over 5 months!!

Impressive!
I've had the photos on my to-do list for eons. The spreadsheet is covered, I do them as I go.

Very cool idea to catalogue. Maybe you can share a screenshot?
I've been offloading Seikos too to fund my SPB145 coming out in July. Already put a deposit down to secure it from an authorized dealer out of State so I get free shipping and don't pay tax. I sold 4 so far ($179 to $545) and have a slew of working 70's quartz varieties sub $100 to get rid of as they get no wrist time and will provide the funds for the SPB145. Plus lots of parts. Should all provide most of the funds if hopefully all for it. As the saying goes, "quality not quantity."
It'll feel good to whittle down to a manageable collection of what I truly want and enjoy wearing.
SPB145 on the left from A Blog To Watch. I like the bronze-like dial color as it separates itself from the traditional black on the right. I have my grandfather's Rolex Submariner which covers the traditional black diver. But this one is a little more unique and worth unloading the extraneous stuff for.

It’s nothing fancy suntzu - just a load of columns of data really - Make, movement, calibre, case code, serial number, year, month, jewels, WR, dial code, dial colour, lug width, BPH, caseback, crystal, strap/bracelet, day language, date, chrono, bezel, comments. There’s probably more stuff I could add but I just chose what I thought was pertinent. The pictures were the hardest bit to do - finding them firstly, and then sizing them all. I found out they need to fit entirely within the cell in order to move with the details when the sheet gets sorted, and the column needs a header. I’d recommend it to anyone - very therapeutic!

Hmmm, I spent today washing and refitting my conservatory roof blinds....14 off.
Cataloging my Seikos does appeal to me, at some point but it must come after I finish the Santoku.

Plus a picture? That's "fancy" in my book! Saying out loud requires you to pause and breathe
Nice work.

One data item I deliberately excluded was purchase price, for two reasons. Firstly, I don’t know what a lot of the pieces in my collection cost me, as I can’t remember. And secondly, I don’t think I want to know what its all cost me...

As I was reading what was listed I said to myself I bet he left cost off for a reason or two... 5 months is only 150 watches, more or less. I guess if we are only counting wearable runners then you have me beat big time. If I add up all the "it might run again some day" I may get close..

The pictures were the hardest bit to do - finding them firstly, and then sizing them all. From memory you can add pics to an excel using a technique so they automatically resize to the cell size. I know I’ve done it before but I can’t remember how. Google would be your friend here.

I have been looking for an online catalogue system to do this very job Nick, not found one that ticks all the boxes yet. I’d want it pc and phone and tablet friendly of course.

Likewise Phil, but all the database-style ones I came across a) cost money and b) seemed to be ‘hosted’ somewhere. This is just a plain old Excel spreadsheet saved in my OneDrive, so I can access from PC or my iPad.

I hereby promise you that if I make more than £10m in pure profit I will personally buy you a second hand Seiko 5 of my choosing from Indian ebay. 7dfe79adc2f0

Where are people finding the SPB145 online for sale? I can't seem to find an outlet.

Not for sale yet. In July/August. You can contact an Authorized Dealer and see if they can let you pre-order.

In which case best have two columns: What I paid for it; & Current value. I suspect for a lot of you that will make for some mighty good reading.
