Okay WS family, need some honest opinions here. I do know wrist size and watch wearability is entirely subjective to each person but am really struggling with this one myself, it’s by far the largest watch I’ve tried on these 6.6 inch wrists. I won’t go into how I feel about the watch right now as I’m generally looking for feedback on if it’s just too much for me or not. Thoughts?

Not too much at all BUT that strap is. Strap looks awful like on a little kid’s wrist. Ditch it for a bracelet and it’ll look great.
Like you said, subjective (except that strap 😆)

I think it looks great! Give it a week on the wrist and you'll be used to the size in no time. But yes get a small strap please haha

It does come down to personal choice but I think it looks much better without the extra strap. Yup, just trim off the excess strap and yer good to go.

The only hard and fast rule that most watch guys agree on is: If the lugs overhang your wrist, then it's too large.* Everything else is subjective. The lugs on the SLA033 don't overhang your wrist, and I personally think it looks great on you. But all that matters is how YOU think it looks. *Unless it's a G-Shock. Then all logic and reason goes out the window. You can wear a 60mm behemoth on a 5" wrist and you'll be called a trend-setter.

I’ve got similar sized wrists to you (maybe a quarter inch more) and this is my largest watch - At 54mm lug-to-lug its a good deal bigger than the SLA033, and is just about the biggest I could get away with without the lugs overhanging my wrist. Maybe you could try out one of the shorter length waffles that are available from Uncle Seiko?

Looks great, save for the strap. Personally, I have never really met a Seiko dive strap I like other than the ZLM01 which would have come on a 6105 new, or perhaps a well-worn GL831. All modern Seiko dive straps seem to be sized to go over a wetsuit on somebody who already has 8 1/2" wrists.
I would suggest some kind of Tropic clone if you need to keep it on rubber, which would mesh with the retro styling of the watch anyway.

Thanks for the feedback all! I cut the regular Seiko strap I had it on and it looks 10x better. Now that I’ve got that out of the way, I’ll add that this watch is awesome. Yes, I’m sure we’ve all read about the debate on retail price for this thing but I was able to do a little better picking it up pre-owned and I couldn’t be happier. The finishing is the nicest of any watch I’ve owned, it’s extremely comfortable for a large watch, the lume as with most newer Seiko divers is great and the bezel action is very smooth. All in all I’m pretty pumped about it and plan to fully wear it without holding back, even with the higher price tag.
Cheers and hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!
Derek

Derek that is ***** NOT ***** a proper SLA033 strap. I don't know what it i s, but it's not correct to the reference. This is: If you bought the watch with that strap on it you were given the wrong strap. Here is mine on the OEM strap before I swapped over to the DiModell, which was driven in part because the OEM was a bit too long me and my 6 3/4" wrists:

I think it’s just a stock cheaper Seiko rubber diver strap, which was perfect for cutting to a good size for now. I have the original but don’t plan on cutting that down just yet. Happy 4th! Derek
