I completely get why these are a value for the price point, but I couldn’t own one knowing it’s a copy of a brand I admire. I want to own the real thing, it’s a personal choice. If I want a watch I don’t have to worry about, I wear a trusty G-Shock. I completely agree. Count me in that camp. A bit of a drastic comparison but I wouldn’t drive around in a debadged Honda Civic DX with a fart cannon and call it a Type R. As far as G-Shocks I cherry-pick the “Squares” and have about 20, most of which I baby as collectibles 😆 Like the one I wore yesterday WRUW July 5.

I just visited the WR Watches web-site and good Lord, there seems be nothing they can't copy. This may not be news to some but to see it all on one site is a real eye opener and head scratcher. They probably make those too

I just got a Steeldive SD1970, which is their 6105 homage, and the thing is outstanding. I put it on an Uncle Seiko $15 sale tire tread strap, and there's no way I would spend what Seiko wants for theirs. No need in my opinion. $88 +$15 to Uncle Seiko, and I have a cheap bracelet for it too which it came with. Sapphire crystal, ceramic lumed bezel insert, NH35. Finishing has no issues, I think it is probably better than a typical 6105 in 1970.

That is very impressive. The fact it has no logo is a plus, for me anyway. Is that an option when placing an order?

Yes. click the "17 options" and there are a variety of strap options in logo or no logo versions. They make blue and green models now too.

Is the SteelDrive 6105 made by the same Chinese company that manufactured the Sharkey 6105? When I bought my Sharkey's at $130 I thought the price was a hard-to-believe Bargain. But the Price has Gone Down to $88. Incredible!

I think (but am not sure)they might be all made by a company calling itself (in English) "54" and just logo'd up differently. San Martin, Sharkey/Heimdallr, SteelDive, Rdunae possibly. I am not sure how much if any difference there is between them.

Do you think a traditional 6309 fits in their San Martin Turtle 6309 case?
My case is a mess. If I can swap the case and use my bezel and case back, that would be awesome! Maybe they can sell me just a case? They do offer modding parts.

I recall a logo thread that went poorly- imagine a Wrist Sushi stamped homage. If we sought the support this could happen with a run of 20. Just a thought.

But the Price has Gone Down to $88. Incredible! My Steeldive arrived last week--very happy with it for the trivial amount I paid! The bezel is a little cheesy and the lume colors don't match, although a replacement bezel would readily solve both issues. For what it's worth, the order (through Alibaba) came from Guangzhou Qiin Watch Co., Ltd and was shipped from Hong Kong. They have a whole page here.

I really like the Case Back on the SteelDrive 6105 - Mask, Tanks, and Fins. Reminds me of the Special Operations Combat Diver Insignia - Mask, Stilettos, and Sharks.

Mine is sterile too, it's the logo'd versions with that design on the caseback.

Update to this dormant thread: you get what you pay for. After only wearing it a few times, the stem of my Steeldive broke off inside the movement. Theoretically, the watch was under warranty...you can imagine how that went. Five or six emails, and only one earned a reply, which was to say that they had no record of my purchase.
I took apart the keyless works, got the remnant out, and reassembled. Of course, I trimmed the new stem a hair short and now have to wait for a replacement to come (also from China, no doubt), but then I should be all sorted out. Famous last words...
