Hey WS, I’m looking for a little insight into a watch I just received. I’ve scoured as much as I could online with very little luck so I figured I’d post here and see if anyone knew info about this line or model? It says 1730 on the case back but that hasn’t turned up much either. It’s very tiny and in pretty rough shape overall however I’m always interested in learning more about these beautiful vintage pieces. Thanks! Derek

I'd hazard a guess that it's an early Feiko.

Looks like early or mid-50s, I've seen similar ones pop up a couple of times. Definitely real to me.

I'd hazard a guess that it's an early Feiko. Seiko Supers have been documented with red seconds hands and similar dials, and earlier ones had 4-digit case numbers, before the 5-digit case number system came into use by Seiko. Early ones also often had plated cases, rather than solid stainless steel ones, unlike later Seikos:

Indeed, but did they also have SEIKONG on the case back? It's just the way the light is reflecting off the "O" engraving on the case-back - it says "SEIKO NO. 1730", as in case model number 1730.

Agreed that’s what it says. Thanks for all the info, not a lot out there I know but still cool to learn some!

These are from the 50's, looks real to me. I try to acquire such pieces as they are the beginning of Seiko wristwatch post WWll. They are not hugely valuable but collectable.
