Following the release of the Hodinkee travel clock, I cracked out my own 'travel clock' with alarm. It's more attractive, has more features, and cost me around 1.25% of what Hodinkee is asking.

I have to send this one back to its owner soon. Gonna miss the big lump a bit, although I never wore it outside the house much anyway.

I know I didn't.
But they try and explain it HERE on Hodinkee's website. I found the article to be informative, interesting, and a better explanation to help articulate how this price point came to be. Seems to be a high level of sophistication and involvement of quality parts, companies, and people. It's still not in my wheelhouse financially, but it's cool to see a niche market brought back into light. I don't know much about the old days of travel alarm clocks. But, ouch, that price point is a little harsh for most of us plebeians.
