So browsing through random listings and i see this Seiko 6139-7002, it looks as though some-one decided it was a multi-purpose tool. Then i read the description (part of which states) "An antique watch demonstrates how perfect and beautiful were designed the movements in past ages. It's exciting to be able to have one in our hands. Fortunately we have the best unique offer for you that you should take advantage... " He sounds like a used car salesman.

While I’m not a fan of over polishing, that could do with a few minutes with a Cape Cod cloth... Cape Cod? You’d need about 3 tins of them to polish that out. I’d be sending it to Mike_B to work his magic on!

That's the problem with thick watches: They inadvertently turn into hammers with the inevitable bashing into doorknobs and countertops.
