Really nice photo!
As you know I have the one on the right. I remember buying it new from a dealer in Hong Kong choosing it for the white dial and Roman numerals. The case design on the sides is totally unique. It was my first Seiko purchase.
Totally underrated movement too.
Lots to soak in when handling it.

I think the case design evolved from the SD designs of the time, 2006. Their cases had a top, middle and bottom and the lugs must have been attached with screws. Must get one one day. They are ALL case when the back is removed but as you say the movements are wonderful. I replaced/renewed both stem seals yesterday so all their rubber seals have been replaced.
